I'm sorry, but I won't continue my visit to your gallery. Not that your work bad -far from- and I understand you want to protect your "intellectual property", but I only see that foxfires deviant text pasted right in the center of interest. This spoils it all for me.
Just wanted to let you know.
Regrets, Tan.

Hi Tan
Thanks for your visit. I, too, am sad that I must post my watermark on everything I do. However, since I do make a (feeble) living with my artwork, it is a necessary evil. You already mentioned that you understand the 'intellectual property' aspect of things, but I feel the need to explain further. You see, my artwork has been stolen and either sold or given away on various websites, and one of the only ways to try and keep it safe is to watermark. I tried for a very long time not to have to do so, but even as recent as last week I had it brought to my attention that another of my pieces was stolen and posted elsewhere. It is very frustrating.
So, I hope you realize it is not vanity on my part, but necessity. Perhaps if I didn't rely on the income, I could freely post it and not worry of theft. That's just not the case. And yes, I could take the option of not posting it at all, but the main way I get seen and thereby get work, is by posting online.
At any rate, I just wanted to give you a little further understanding on why I (and many others on DA) watermark. Thanks for listening.
Aimee aka Foxfires

Yes, I do understand. And I really feel it's a shame what some people do. So I never, really never! interpreted the watermark as vanity or whatever. The only thing I have problems with is that sometimes it integrates with your artwork, and sometimes it's really so as to say screaming for attention, spoiling all possible aesthetical enjoyment. And also that it's always the "good guys", the ones who visit to enjoy and admire, that are punished because a minority of "bad guys" misuse the work for their personal benefit. I know it's common practice nowadays, but I'm having difficulties with this. It's normal an artist signs her/his work, but, knowing that you need 300ppi for one inch to get a good print, how can a, say, 900p wide image (3inch) be dangerous for printing?
My idea, and I have no problems you have another one. Just wanted to let you know. Because I do like your work.

Love the space you created. I lot of people will really make their manips too cluttered. This one really has a sense of thrilling simplistic fantasy (the best kind!).

Amazing colouring and element composition. You've kept consistency throughout the work, which is the toughest part about photomanipulation!
