Holy freakin' moly!! I can't contain my geekness from all the Mushi-shi love here!! Tied with one other series as my all time favorite anime, and I'm listening to the soundtrack as I write this. I want everything here! I cosplay Ginko (I even got green contacts), but I've been really trying to figure out how to make a really nice wooden backpack (I don't know the proper term for it lol) since the outfit is so simple, so thanks so much for that description you gave earlier. That helps so so much, as I don't know how to work with cutting and woodworking whatsoever. lol And you really made the green wine cup out of sculpy? It looks so beautiful and downright perfect. You have encouraged me to go and get some sculpy and make all of this on my downtime for fun. The box/backpack is truly a work of art, getting all those drawers (that look ridiculously amazing) actually in there along with all those wonderful props. Can't put anymore words to describe the love of it. It is so nice to find other Mushi-shi enthusiasts. I think it's the most beautifully animated series there is, and the soundtrack is my all time favorite, too. Truly the definition of art.

I use glasses so I used contact lenses sometimes, I get used to them haha. I love these ones, they just looks like Ginko!
A girl here in Argentina imports wigs and contact lenses, so I bought it to her. If I'm not wrong she've got a provider in USA, and some wigs she buy by eBay. You should take a look on it! Here, they are a little bit expensive because the difference between dollar/peso (argentinian money) or euro/peso is very big. My wig (it's kanekalon) costs $140 (U$S30 I guess) and my contact lenses $115 (U$S25).

lucky XD I wish I could do that !
those are not bad prices I will definitely have to look, when i searched I could hardly find any good wigs I was so sad! I was even trying to get a friend to make one for me here, but the white hair is very espensive and isn't sold in very big bunches so we ended up going with an online one we didn't know too well D: Kanekalon? I will look it up!

I did indeed : D! I'm glad you asked XD I love when people appreciate it makes me feel awesome XD
(this explanation will be long sorry XD)
So first, we bought some plywood, but it was cut crooked, and we don't have a table saw to make straight cuts on long boards so we had to get a whole nother giant piece of wood XD it was like.. 4' x 8' piece of quarter inch thick mahogany and we had the store cut it (a better store lol ) exactly straight at the correct inch marks (which took a LOT of planning to figure out the right dimensions for me) then once those were cut we took them home (in my tiny corolla rofl, hardly fit) and we cut them to size with our radial arm saw, BUT it is old and hasn't been very well maintained so it cut slightly crooked as well !!! SO we were just like.. we're gonna have to deal with it so we cut everything; the sides the top and bottom and the inside slats before doing anything else. (the backpiece is like pine, a nice piece exact cut craft wood from michael's) That took about one weekend lol, the next weekend we had to search for a material for the drawers, luckily we found 10' long cedar planks that were very thin and light weight (not the best quality, very splintery but you know) and they were the perfect height already so we bought 5 of them (cheap) and cut them all up into the drawers. Before doing that however, we constructed the entire outter frame of the box along with the inside shelves, IN DOING SO THO, we set the bottom shelf a little crooked unfortunately XD no one noticed tho which is nice phew. BUT because of that we had to pretty much cut each drawer differently to fit it into it's proper hole. (oh before we put the box together we drilled holes for the backpack straps, and dremel sawed them out making that long oval shape and then drilled belts into the inside of the box with some screws and washers (bout 3 each) so my straps are made of belts lol from walmart. THEN after all that was assembled, I sanded each one of the drawer planks with my girlfriend lol and the regular box too of course. then traced out the finger hole on each front piece. After that we drilled two holes in each of the traced out spots and then dremeled them out too. That took quite a while lol. BUT after that was all done we were able to start constructing the drawers. For this we simply used hot glue lol because it dries fast and holes pretty strong when stuck in porous spaces like cedar. So we hot glued the crap out of every corner rofl and then fit them in one by one. NOW the bottom drawer however! We had to make special, because it's crooked, we had to cut the front at an angle and sand off the edge on one side lol. then we had to recut all the boards that constructed the interior and we used some left over 1/8 inch pine slats to make up the bottom (which is why it's a different color) So we finally got that settled and glued that one together. (we used a 90 degree metal edge, made it so much easier to set them!) Before leaving the drawers in, we drilled holes VERY carefully into the left side of the front of the box and hammered in neodinium magnets to allow it to close, stay closed, and not show it having any hinge there. Then after we were sure that would work we screwed in half inch hinges on the other side to allow it to open (we are going to sink them in later maybe, to make it truly look like there is nothing holding that box together lol) Between constructing it and putting the door on we stained it with dark mahongany color all around the main box part (not touching the cedar, because it's already lighter, exactly how we wanted it) and let it dry a little and wiped it off, then varnished it with some awesome spray varnish which i didn't know they had.
*DEEP BREATH* and there you have it! BOX XD sorry for such a long description rofl, but a lot went into that crazy thing XD thank you for asking, I totally understand if you don't read it all rofl C:

XD it is, i found all the clothes in thrift stores, wig was a little tricky had to find it online and get a friend to cut it.
it is much heavier than 15 lbs XD especially with things in it lol. my average walk to school is about 30 minutes one way as well from my bus stop, and I carry something similar xD bout 15 lbs, that is REALLY like comparatively now rofl XD just do some lifting before hand and you will be alright i think, it only got really heavy the last day cuz i had been carrying it and walking around almost nonstop XD

Mushishi FTW! And this is awesome! Gosh, it'd be awesome to own this stuff! I only recognize the "A" and "Un" mushi, the cocoons, and the sake cup from the pilot episode. Which ones are the others from? Seriously, this is amazing.

thank you so much it means a lot !
I will post some progress shots soon as I get time to work on it lol, school sucks up so much time XD right now he has no hands feet or like.. face rofl so kind of creepy but it'll be up eventually! perhaps painted, not sure yet.
