Reian (left) and Nelius (right) from my novel The Wind & the Foxes, which I am nearing the end of. Hopefully it won't take me too much longer to finish writing it!This picture is set after the end of the novel. These two meet during the course of the story. They will eventually end up married, but that happens later and isn't part of the narrative. Their culture does allow same-sex marriages in some cases, but I won't try to explain the cultural stuff here. Marriage is an entirely different issue among their people, though.
Hmm, I don't think this needs to be marked as mature--they're just doing some shirtless cuddling.

Yes! Not that this actually takes place in the narrative, but in my mind, it's what happens afterward. There's a particular kind of marriage that applies in this case (hence my essay about Kelisavian gender and marriage customs). Maybe I'll write some short stories about that time period someday! I don't know if you read my post about it in LJ, but Nelius has wives, too. (Men with an inherited gift like sorcery are permitted to have up to four wives. Reian only wants Nelius and Pasha, though. And Imbri, ha ha ha ha.)
Not that any of this is relevant to the plot at all!

Ha ha, and I'm flattered! Writing is my main occupation, actually. I don't post any of my stories here, though, since they're intended for publication. But I do draw a lot too (obviously), and I really love doing it--it helps me relax.

See, I'd always assumed that it would end with him dying a bloody and tragic death, what with the general theme of your works involving him. A happy ending is a nice surprise.

Aww! Ha ha, yes, I do like to draw him bloody, but in most cases, when he gets bloody, it's someone else who's really in trouble. Not that Nelius isn't in danger at the end of the book.
