Description This was a backstreet workshop full of mannequins in Chiswick, London.

The shot is unposed - this is just how I found them.

Copy of my original print from the mid 80's with a compact as scanner is bust.

Everywhere I turned kept offering fresh poses and 'conversations'. In such a small space it was most difficult trying to get the scene in. I think I was using a 28mm wide angle lens on my 35mm Nikon FE.
Thanks for the comment.

That would be so much fun, but I bet it was a little creepy though, all those realistic plastic people staring at you wherever you move. :]

It was more like being in a church - it felt like you had to be really quiet so as not to disturb the silence. Not creepy at all really. The facial expressions seemed so intense that one didn't really notice absent limbs and things like that. Anyway, thanks for your comments.

What were these mannequins used for?

These were second had mannequins from some departmet store I guess, bought as a job lot, 'reconditioned' and sold back into fashion slavery.
