Description
This was a backstreet workshop full of mannequins in Chiswick, London.The shot is unposed - this is just how I found them. The expressions seemed so intense.
Copy of my original print from the mid 80's with a compact as scanner is bust.

It's what I love about the whole concept of puppets and everything, so fixated. It goes straight to the viewer for the mood I love it.

The whole place had a tense and loud silence that intensified the expressions. The diffuse light filtering through added more to the almost palpable feeling of a moment trapped. Thanks for your comment

Everywhere these mannequins seemed animated. Although whole groups were identical, subbtle changes in light conveyed completely different 'emotions'. Both more enigamtic and less confused than the contant miniscule changes of expression from 'live' subjects.

The whole place really felt noisy. The overall silence seemed to accentuate the expressions that the light cast on the faces and one felt alomost intrusive on some telepathic group. Thanks again for the comment.
