June 10th, 2014One of the cutest and most cooperative jumping spiders I've shot all year
Found this little guy (well, girl) while on break in the library garden. Ended up shooting for a bit longer than anticipated because she was so cooperative. Apparently they like hanging around Stella Daylilies, because there were a fair amount of these spiders on them throughout the garden and I hadn't seen them anywhere else 
Focus stacked two shots for this since she stood still, one for the eyes/face and one for the front legs 
Shot with a reversed 18-55mm kit lens (18mm ) on a Canon 60D.

Thank you very much! Happy to share the cute side of these arachnids, most people think they're just scary. They seem creepy until you zoom in close and see the personality in their eyes

I actually really like spiders, but I used to be SO scared of them. I mean, I'd scream whenever I saw one. It took a long time for me to enjoy them. These kinds of pictures work wonders on people like me. They help curve that fear and make these creatures more approachable. It shows just how adorable these little guys can be.
