You do all the painting over the line art layer? like if it was an oil painting?

I keep all my process close to traditional as possible   So yes.  The line drawing is
my closest estimate.  I say estimate because shapes will shift here and there.
The second thing I do is design my shadow ( light and dark ) pattern.  From that point
you paint thicker and thicker up to the light
