Description 日本語は私の第二言語が、ペラペラじゃないんだ。

Tattoo design sketchbook project: shigeki.zumi: ballpoints vol.01 (pending title)
Medium: ballpoint pen
This is still one of my favs. Though the skull is so wrong....Fuck it, let's say the person was deformed.

PLEASE don't ask to use. Be inspired, but do not copy in anyway. If you want to buy the original work, I don't know if I'll be selling them. If I do, I'll make a journal. Please don't ask when, as I don't know But your interest is appreciated.

Again, Please don't ask to use. If you want a tattoo design, please look through my commission info page: [link]

These are all at least 1-3 years old. Numbered in the order I did them (the lower the number = the older it is). Have about 4 or 5 even newer ones, which I'll post later. STILL intend to do the book though.

These designs are basically what I'd love to tattoo, and what I intend to have my future tattooing portfolio be filled with. Currently looking for a shop or booth to rent. I'll post a journal about that soon. Will be really putting in work once I move residency.

I GREATLY look forward to get back into tattooing!

I simply see it as mockery and people like you fling hindu culture in wrong means

People like me?

"...fling hindu culture in wrong means" doesn't make sense. I think I get what you were trying to convey though; and I still find it misplaced. To fling something around in the manner I think you're trying to mean, I would have to be trying to use hinduism as a crutch ( an excuse for my actions of some kind.), or I'm using it in some kind of story without doing any research. I'm not. The fact of the matter is: the piece was made out of the inspiration I get from Hinduism's deities and India. A celebration of inspiration if you will.

I don't see how you decided to see it as a mockery; the only possible way I see, is that you're saying there's only one representation I could do of a Hindu character, and everything outside of that is a ridicule. I find that a ridiculous thought, but as mentioned, you're free to see if however you wish. Even if you're sadly mistaken. I can't control what you choose to take from this piece: It's sad that you decided on something negative though.

See I don't mean any personal harm but I am critics, as per my view the art seems good no doubt but I get a wrong message. Hope you understand art is not made to hurt someone's religious beliefs if you are a true artist.

I understand, as mentioned, I can't control how you feel towards it.

"Hope you understand art is not made to hurt someone's religious beliefs if you are a true artist." I disagree wholeheartedly. The concept of art is much too vast to have such a one-dimensional view. You're not only diminishing what art is, but you're showing a lack of understanding of human nature. The fact that you're offended by a piece, that wasn't intended as such, is one example of that: There will ALWAYS be someone out there to view a piece of art in a negative light; Even the most simplest thing, will have someone come along and say it offends them in some way.

If your definition of a "true artist" was reality; then that person would either lose their mind, or never get anything done. For it's impossible to have every single artwork one does, be friendly to ALL religious (there are thousands, some which even contradicts others), and still grow and develop ones skill and imagination.

I'm sorry for the long reply, I must admit, I'm not fond of someone trying to tell me what art is, and what a defines a "true artist", as if it was fact.

You're free to your views, even if I do disagree. That's what makes life what it is. But please don't confuse individual opinion with general worldly fact.

P.S.
I thought this might help: I think you mean "critic" not "critics". And you made a couple of run-on sentences as well.

My dear friend I am one of those Critics OK, and I agree your disapproval. One simple thing if you call yourself a true artist then please let me know what message does your art conveys?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

fydbac In reply to rohanrpednekar [2012-11-14 17:59:41 +0000 UTC]

To be honest, I'm not calling myself a true artist. Some may view me as such, while others may not.

"what message does your art conveys?" I believe I already answered that. But to word it differently: if it's so necessary for you must find meaning in it: This particular piece conveys my celebration of just how much the Hindu deities, and India, inspires me. My "celebration" was made to satisfy myself, with no one else in mind; And I succeeded.

Again I stress, what you take from it is your business.

When it’s up to Hindu deities, I don't make business out of it, it is my passion to devote my art towards the deities and what I earn from it is admiration. Being a disciple of Hindu deities my art has meaning for every single sketch.

A little Cro-Magnon, to be sure, but otherwise, I actually like it. The combination with Ganesh is unique as well. All that sitting on a Lotus. What more can one ask for?
I give it
