Description                                                Holy Crown
Nearly two thousand years ago, a young Nazarene named Jesus was proclaimed king of the Jews and preached a message of peace to his people. Some felt that he was a threat, so he was executed. As Jesus bled from the cross, his great uncle, Joseph of Arimathea caught the blood with a simple grail. This grail also held the wine drunk at the last supper, or the first mass. Joseph later became guardian of this sacred relic for many years. However, this wasn’t the only thing he guarded. Later, he and a group of followers took the grail to the British Isles and built a mighty fortress around it. He also took the crown of thorns that Jesus wore throughout his crucifixion to Britain and also built a great castle around it. As the years passed, and these relics became a thing of the past, rumor has surfaced that these relics did lie in waiting in Britain. While King Arthur and his knights retrieved the Holy Grail, the Holy Crown lied in wait; waiting for a keeper. In the year 1124, life in England was brutal. This country, along with the rest of Europe, had no clean water, no education, no safe haven from the countless barbarian invasions. Two young men, Stephen and Thomas wanted to escape this bleak reality; they wanted adventure. One day, when Thomas was looking for firewood, he received a divine vision from the Archangel,  Saint Michael himself. Michael told him that he was a descendant of Joseph of Arimathea, the guardian of the crown and one of Jesus’ most loyal relatives. Thomas was the one chosen by God to find the Holy Crown, for which purpose he would explain later. Thomas was then knighted by Michael and now wore knightly garments, with a sword and shield. The Archangel then disappeared from Thomas’ vision. Thomas went at once to tell Stephen his quest to find the holy crown and asked if he would join him. Stephen agreed and so they set off for Middlesex, where the crown resided.  On the way, they met a man who was practicing archery. He was a very good archer, whose name was John. Stephen and Thomas invited him to join them on their quest for the crown. He joined them and they continued their quest. On the way they encountered a knight who stopped the three men in their tracks. He was the knight in red and he dared to challenge Thomas to a duel, since God had made him a knight. Thomas won the duel and offered the knight in red to join them on their quest. The knight joined them, and so they continued on their quest for the Holy Crown. Finally they reached Middlesex and the castle that carried the Holy Crown. The men faced many challenges. For one, they had to cross a giant pool. They also needed to face a den of lions. Lastly, they had to face a terrifying serpent. At last they reached the room with the Holy Crown. Then Saint Michael appeared to them again. He congratulated Thomas for finding the Holy Crown of Jesus Christ. He told him that he was the most pious of all peoples in the world. Whoever found the Crown could fight devilish forces alongside Saint Michael and whoever wore the crown could command the Knights of Saint Michael. Thomas then reminded Michael that his companions helped him find the crown as well. So everyone was invited to join Saint Michael in Heaven, fighting the forces of the Adversary. Thomas, Stephen, John and the Knight in Red whose name was David were taken to heaven with Saint Michael where they would reside until the end of time. They in turn became saints as well.
