Something I've been playing with this week. I actually drew the sketch a long time ago, like May '05 according to the date on the scan file. I was cleaning up my computer, reordering the art files I always let pile up, and ran across the sketch. I felt like painting it since I'm in the whole Kingdom Hearts craze with the new game right now. *shrug* Boredom really. Just been off these last days and wanted to throw myself into something. From left to right; Riku, Sora, Cloud, and Sephiroth for those who have never played the game, or Final Fantasy VII for that matter... or seen Advent Children... I am so glad to see Sephiroth making such a comeback.
Yeah... sos, they don't really look like in the game but I don't care 'cause it was intentional. I like doing things in different styles so no bitching at me about it. 
I should have put more detail into the clothes and such but I'm over it... ramble...

Ah, this would definitely be considered full out digital painter style. I keep meaning to come out with a clear pricing for the painter style, but I forgot, and really it depends a lot on the details and size. The main difference though, because of the complexity and time it takes, any character added in the picture would be equal to the price of the original character, and if background is wanted, the price tends to range med to high, especially if it's big on details. Color compared to monotone also has a large price difference. So, this particular pic would have been around $120-$135 because of the amount of characters in it, and if it was monotone in grays, around $80-$100.
If you were looking for a group pic, with a cheaper price, you can just drop the painter style and base it by the head and bust proportions... so, around $40 with background, $30 without.

Whee! Four of my fave Square Enix characters all in one pic! *droolz* Awesome pic. It also reminds me how similar Riku and Sephiroth look, with the eyes and hair I mean. ^_^

My brother gave me a copy of advent children i can watch on the computer. It is so good, and there are SO many hot guys in it, not the least of which is Sephy!! *drool, whimper, collapse*

Err... digital paint.
XD The real stuff is too much of a mess for my insane mind. @_@ I don't mix well with paint fumes and burny stuff. It was in the oils tab though. Teh software I use is CorelPaint IX incase you're curious. ^^

Looking at this, it's almost scary to see the similarites between Sora and Cloud and then those between Riku and Sephiroth >_> Laziness in the character design department, you think?

Mm, I've noticed that too... but the spikey haired hotheads and sleek silver haired bishies are just too cool to worry over it. I think the characters in FFVIII are fairly unique compared to the FF characters on a whole... but then again, the previous games were all rather chibified sos it's hard to tell.
Ugh, getting the yellows to work with the blues and greys without overpowering was a total pain.

Looks good to me. ItΒ΄s sufficently detailed in my opinion and you have also handeled the colors really well. Plus the characters look like the way they should, what more could one ask?

I dunno, I tend to want to do this whole photorealism kind of detail with everything that I'm trying to break out of... but I don't know if I'm trying to keep only the main focus sharp and clean because I'm too lazy to do it for the rest as well.
