Try avoiding the grayish stuff tho :/ try with some other dark color that goes well with the "base" and lower the opacity , it would make the drawings so much lively. Try with brown-red I don't remember how it's called right now... I would use greyish colors only when the light is really low, but well, at the end it's only up to you.
And what is your new avatar? It's so nice, but I can't recognize the character.

1-yeah I usually have few shading colours in case of no background (blue,which I use often,and grayish magneta,that I don't like "that" much)
But for others I use multiply,which gives it lively effect
2-it's one other oc of mine,drawn as trade with my senpai

Ohhh, I got it! Could you link me his/her gallery, please?
I don't use multiply for shading, try just lowering the opacity and few different colors, maybe it'll do for you as well, who knows ^^

But I started using multiply about...3 days ago XD
Mostly I would choose very dark shade of one colour,and reduce it's visibility,but my shadings are kinda messy...working on that as well ;3
But hey,who knows,maybe we should just experiment ^^

Oh! I remember that when using Multiply I changed the color every time, using as reference the base color. And thank you for understanding <3
