Description (Updated Pic. Quality)

on Earth dragons are a fundamental part of human culture, no one knows where the idea of dragons came from and frankly, no one cares! wherever dragons came from they have inspired many things, art, books, history, and many more. so for today, this is one dragon that I took inspiration of the Viking long ship with a dragon figure head.

---------------------------------------------------
Name: Scandinavian Jarl Dragon.

Genesis: Draconian.
Classification: Leviathan/Sea Serpent.
Region: Northern Europe - Scandinavia.

Lifespan: around 150yrs.
Average Length: 70 - 80ft.
Average Height: 50ft roughly.
Average Weight: 140,000 - 160,000lbs.

-----------------------------------------------------
-the Scandinavian Jarl Dragon is a large sea serpent, or leviathan, class of dragon that are mostly found in the waters off the coasts of Northern Europe where the Scandinavia islands are. these dragons primarily live out in the vast seas and oceans, but they are sometimes seen in large rivers & lakes with the isles they are primarily found in. and with their muscular six finned limbs, these dragons are very capable and adapt swimmers which they use to catch schools of fish, or even small whales and sharks. the later of which is their most favorite.

aside from open the waters, rivers and lakes, these dragons can even be found on beaches and coves. where they can be found sunbathing, or even spending a large portion of their time on land. now usually when a large marine creature is on land, their massive weight can cause severe health problems, like being crushed under their own weight, or their internal organs can't function on land. however the Scandinavian Jarl Dragon doesn't have these issues. they are quite capable of living their lives on land, and with their 6 limbs, they are able to move about like seals or other creatures like them, but even if they do live on land these dragons will have to return to the water to feed, since they won't be able to hunt on land.

the fins on the dragons head serve various prepossess:
-they are used to feel the vibrations in the water & in the air when on land, allowing them to in-vision a full 360 degree radius around them. so they don't even need to see something to know that there is something close by.
-the fins can also act as a form of facial expression for the dragon, which depending on their positions and the way they are posed, a human can get a grasp on what the dragon is currently feeling.
-the fins also allows the dragon to help vent out excess body heat, by allowing the the blood that passes through them to expel all the extra heat that the dragon has.

now sources on this fact are loose at best, but it is said that Vikings actually based the designs of their long ships off the Scandinavian Jarl Dragon. wither this is true or not is up for debate, but one cannot deny that there are some visual cues from the dragons, that the boats features. and speaking of inspiration, and loose sources, as to why these dragons have Jarl in there name is because many people of the Scandinavian islands believe these dragons to be the apex or chief creature in the region.

---------------------------------------------------------------
then there's the interesting 'Breath Weapon' that these dragons have, and it all starts from the 2 organs that are commonly called 'Cauldrons', which are basically 2 additional stomachs. these organs process food like the main stomach, however the acids and bacteria in these cauldrons are used in combination with a special large sack in the chest, which produces volatile chemicals. when these chemicals and gases are mixed and make contact with the air, they erupt into brilliant blue flames, which can reduce any non-dragon classified creature into a smoldering husk within 10seconds. now this blue fire is clearly a dangerous weapon on land, but in the water the Scandinavian Jarl Dragon has a different weapon.

while in the water, or on land, the Scandinavian Jarl Dragon will scoop up rocks and store them within a special organ that is between the lungs and chemical producing sack, the stomach and cauldron. the rocks are kept in this sack until the dragon performs a regurgitation act, but instead of just coughing up rocks, the dragon does something else. before using its 2ndry breath weapon, it will pump the chemicals into its stone sack along with the cauldron's stomach acids, which melt the stones into something like lava or magma. then when the dragon uses its other breath attack, it vomits this new substances out, but also with the gases from the cauldron's to ignite the substance just as they make contact with the air. and turning into a molten fireball of melted rock & blue fire!

when not in the water this molten fireball is used in a catapult-like attack, in where the dragon arcs this attack for a super long-range attack, that deals massive damage. it can also be used at close range, but the speed and momentum won't be as great as when this attack is used for long-range. when in the water, this molten fireball because just a solid superheated rock projectile, traveling at the speed of a torpedo.

aside from their breath weapons, the Scandinavian Jarl Dragon have other weapons that are just as dangerous. they have their jaws which can literally crush a van in half. their necks & tails are pure muscle and are used as battering rams and clubs. the chin spike on the lower jaws are sharp and thick enough to stake enemies, easily puncturing skin & muscle. then there are their massive bodies, which they use to wrestle and batter enemies.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
the Scandinavian Jarl Dragon are a fairly semi-aggressive species of dragon, not tolerating any other large predatory creatures within their chosen territories. they are mostly a docile species, but when provoked they can be very hostile and very aggressive. now normally these dragons pose no threats to humans, as they don't quite see us as much of a threat, or as a suitable meal or snack. that being said, its not un-heard of for someone to be eaten by these dragons, mostly because of the humans fault.

these dragons are mostly a solitary species, with adults living on small land masses or in deep waters by themselves. the ones that many humans see in fairly large pods in the waters or on beaches are juveniles and adolescents, with a few young adults acting as supervisors, while the young ones live together, fight to hone their fighting skills and establish their dominance over one another.
