Loved doing Ruben so much that I had to do a second one straight away!
This one is more refined, and am even more happy with how it came out!

Made and textured in Blender

Not at the moment, too busy to go through that whole process.
Maybe in the future.

Oooh tough question.
I won't be able to teach you (I'm not very good at explaining things, and also a matter of time).
However I can help by pointing you in the right direction.

1.
First of all, I use Blender to do my 3D models.
It free, and you can download it here:
www.blender.org/

2.
From your other comment, 748 triangles refers to how many triangles make up the mesh (the skin you see).
Pyroxene's model shows it off nicely.

3.
Now tutorials!
Xenostriker made a massive tutorial series years back. It's old and is using an older version of Blender, but the general controls are still the same.
Also, he's showing you how to make low poly models like I do.

4.
Lastly and most importantly, don't be afraid of screwing up or starting small!
My very first model was a gingerbread man, and my second, whilst better, had terrible geometry.
Every model I made, I learned something new from.
It'll take time, but it's worth it.

I hope this helps Rena.
Feel free to poke me if you have any questions.
