"And I did it on purpose!"
I loved this movie growing up still do, I miss 80's to 90's action movies they knew how to make things awsome, have fun and just be great entertainment. Too many films try to be too serious or a parody of old action movies now a days.

Once upon a time, John McTiernan won't go to jail and keep on making awesome movies instead.
Hopefully

I always preferred this Charles Dance as the demon, Sardo Numspa, from Golden Child. Good memories. I remember being startled that his eyes kept changing in Last Action Hero. I didn't know at the time that contacts could look like smiley faces, etc.

HA! Excellent. Just from looking at the thumbnail I was going to say that it looks like the guy who played Sardo Numspa in The Golden Child. Sure enough, same actor. Good job on the likeness!

"haha". Well your illustrations often have a funny nostalgic quality for me. I have to start it off with a chuckle.

Oooo... he's so bad that is cool... by the way, would be interesting if the glass eye was transparent? (Blame Humon of that idea).

I wonder how it felt... To me this movie is...one of the very best. BUT at the same time i understand it don't have values if you din't saw it as a kid of 80-90th. It has that special meaning for a person who was into movies of VHS-era with all that action, horror, remarkable villains and unrealistic-crazyness...

Yeah, I think there are a few "important" films I missed out on that probably would have been childhood-shaping at the time (I've still never seen an Indiana Jones film!)

But I really enjoyed it! It had the over-the-top action but was cheesy and self-referential, which was great fun!

The strangest part, I found, was that the finale, set in the "Real World" was even more fake and unbelievable than the movie world! The Ripper is wearing rubber gloves and shoes but gets electrocuted through water!? I can't tell if that was deliberate or not.

Either way I'd watch it again and you picked the best character to draw!

It just really contains that atmosphere of 'pour' early 90th when we had less cool stuff and didn't had the internet. We watched movies on TV and had dreams about our favorite characters and "how cool, colorful and crazy" the movie-world is and how it's way better than this world of brutal reality!
(nowadays i don't dream about living in a world of Nolan's Batman or Bay's Transformers...hell no!)
PS:
The Ripper had water all over his face and clothes...I mean - water all over that rubbery parts. So the electicity just had a race from his gloves to his FACE!

- Golduck used Soak!
- Garchomp now is WATER TYPE!
- Electabuzz used THUNDER!
- It's SUPER EFFECTIVE!

Well that wasn't the only strange occurrence, but as I said that could have been deliberate because it was still a movie.
