Pea Baba (Baba grochowa) (literally 'pea woman')- a Slavic field demon similar to Lady Midday (Południca), mentioned in legends in northern Podlasie (it's a Polish region). They were supposed to be wearing dresses made of pea or have hair made of it. They wandered the fields in the summer and lived in pea or lupine; sometimes they choked resting harvesters and were said to be dangerous to small children, who they frightened or even strangled.

Now this manip, at first, was supposed to look completely differently - the demon itself was more solid, and her hair is actually made of peas, though right now it isn't really visible. The hair was a nightmare to create - it is half painted, but to be honest to create it completely like I visualized it at the beginning, I'd have to be far more patient than I am feeling right now - and far more skilled at painting. I'm quite happy with the result, though I still think this is a perfect example of how little attention I pay to details - now that I look at it, the whole thing looks a bit empty. Maybe I'll come back to it in a while and add something. Anyway, hope you like it - it was still fun to work on it!
