I love how intense the butterfly looks compared to the background. It's really awesome how you did that...

I like the contrast between the two sides of the butterfly.
The strength and beauty of the left / the delicate right.
The focusing is fine...it's still a good shot.

This reminds me of the time my cat caught a monarch...
I made him let it go, and at first, I thought it was dead... Then it started to slowly flap its wings, until it flapped them faster and faster, and it fluttered to the other end of my backyard. My cat made another dash for it, but it had already flown away before he could reach it.

Good for you that the bluriness was on the damaged wing!
But it actually isnt that blured!
I liked it anyway!
The neutral background with main object with vivid colours...I'm a sucker for these kind of pics!

Yes, very true. That wasn't my intiention for the blur, in fact the blur wasnt intentional at all. But I'm glad you have your own interpretation of it, making it less of a photographic error. God I love art! Anything goes.

Not entirely sure what happened. I initially thought that the wings were in motion when i took the shot, causing a blur. But the botom half of the wing is still in focus. The wing was a bit bent so perhaps my DOF was a bit off. But its also unlikely that it would cause such a blur... hmm. I'm not entrely happy with it but i think it also brings 'focus' to the damaged wing. If you know what I mean.
