Description
In the days of locomotive haulage on the West Coast Main Line under Virgin Trains, it was common for stock to be dragged by a diesel over non-electrified lines. Here, we see 47805 Pride of Toton between Bangor and Llandudno Junction on 11th June 2002. The diesel will come off at Crewe and a Class 87 will attach on the rear.
Pride of Toton still exists, albeit with the name Roger Hosking MA 1925-2013, in the employ of Locomotive Services Limited.
