There was really no need to inform me of your use of this color palette. Nonetheless, it's a good first attempt. With practice you should improve and over time will become second nature.Β

I am not a master at this sort of thing. I am reading your information above about how to get the fleshtone palette, but I do not get it. It makes no sense to me.Β It looks like I am suppose to go into Computer then go into C drive, when I get there, go into program files, when I get there look for the word GIMP,,click on ShareΒ and then pallettes. When I click on pallettes I do not see the offer for fleshtones.Β Even if I saw it, I have no idea what to do next. I am utterly confused. I thought I could just go somewhere, click on a link, and download it. Β I am on windows 7.Β Can anyone help?

When you download file from devisntArt, most of the time they will be contained within some sort of compressed zip file. You have to extract the files from any compressed zip file you download form DA, in order to be able to use it.
Once you've done this, you then need to place this file, (whatever it may be) into the correct folder.
For example...Β
Lets say you need some clouds for an image you're working on, so you come to , do a search and find some "Gimp" cloud brushes that you like. You click on the download button and downloaded these cloud brushes that you like so much.Β
100% of the time,Β the file(s) that you've just downloaded will be contained in some kind of compressed zip-file.
You then have to be able to extract the files contained within this compressed zip file to gain access to them. Once you've done this, you then need to know where these files needs to be placed.
The stuff you download form DA doesn't automatically go where it needs to be. Especially when we're talking about "application resources",Β such as Gimp Brush, Photoshop Brushes and the like.

You can also visit Gimp Chat.com www.gimpchat.com/ucp.php?mode=β¦ and ask for help with this. I'm sorry, but I don't know windows 7 and where it keeps all the Gimp user files at.

I'm not sure where windows 7 keep the Gimp user files and folders, but the "Flesh_Tones.gpl" file has to be placed into the palettes folder of your user files.
Once the zip file has been unpacked /un-ziped, the "Flesh_Tones.gpl" needs to be placed into your Gimp user palettes folder, for it to show up within gimp when you open it.

It's more then just a 'flesh tone' color palette, as you'll see if/when you install it into .Β

Oh cool !
BTW
Solution 2 is always the best in the other case it would be deleted if upgrading gimp
and yes 7 replaced "Documents and Settings" with "Users"
So for Vista, 7 and 8
move the file in
C:/Users/your user name_Administrator/your version of Gimp/palettes
