Close your eyes, and you are there...Gentle breeze touches your cheeks then soothingly flows through your hair...
Under the calm surface of the water are river fish swimming enjoyably...
Various kinds of sweet tweets tickle your ears,
and tranquilizing murmuring of the stream eases your mind...
I used to go to such streams in mountains in summer season when I was a kid. It was fun swimming in the clear water and having barbecue aside. Usually the water stream's so cold that we used it to chill watermelons and drinks. It was fun...
I used that childhood memory as the theme of the picture, combining it with fantasy.
Everything from sketch and lineart through painting and effects done on Photoshop 6.0.

I LOVE this picture. Everything from the rocks to the water, to the folds on the girl's dress and the way she's sitting is completely natural, and incredibly pleasing to look at.Firstly, the colors.. I've been browsing at your gallery and this picture really shows fine improvement... From flat colors and uncomfortable lines, to a wonderful show in skill, plenty of colors and lovely lightsources along the way. While I see wings a bit too often in your gallery, I think this winged girl suits the picture very well. Everything around her really helps to create either a 'natural' or 'magical' feel, whichever you choose, and you chose the magical route. It's lovely. Wonderful job on the water, it's really a challenging thing to paint, but you managed to do it very well(great job on the fish as well). I LOVE the forest, how the trees simply fade away as they get farther back.. And wonderful job on the girl. The wrinkles in her dress... are drawn so very well! they help define her body, the way she's sitting, and the bagginess of her dress. I also love the pink shading on her wings, her legs, and on her hair. Her hair looks so soft, too!
Absolutely everything about this picture compliments everything else. The way the colors flow so smoothly together... The grey tint of the rocks getting slightly reflected by the blue of the water, which sparkles ever so well... The trees int he back, helping set such a serene mood, helping your mind wander past the image itself... That single flower.. such a nice detail! Up to the girl.. her colors, the way she looks, it really pulls off not only the magical girl look, but also.. I'm not sure.. a natural, spirit-esque feel, as well as the 'normal girl' kind of look.
All in all, everything in the picture was done very well. Colors are fantastic, the feel is awesome, and every little detail has been drawn in really, really well. <3
