Description My Huntress cape really likes to flow majestically in the wind. Capes make you look at least 50% cooler

Costume Construction:

The bodysuit it made from a custom pattern drafted by myself. The suit has a combination of modified princess seams and angled hip darts to shape the suit and belly window. The bodysuit is made from black and white metallic spandex. The bodysuit has built in leggings for the sake of 'modesty' and comfort.

The boots are boot-covers created over a pair of combat boots. I used wet look purple spandex for the base of the boot and ribbed a section under the knee for detailing and to help keep the boot up. The strapping and lower shoe guard are made from purple vinyl. The knee pads are highly modified children's knee guards which I ripped apart, rebuilt and then coated in a semi gloss glaze.

The belts and pouches are made from the same purple vinyl. I created my own pattern for the pouches and engineered my own design for the belts. My belt buckle is made from resin marbled in black and gold.

My arm guards are altered children shin guards which I've heat formed, painted and altered to fit my arms. My cape clasps are resin casted and painted with a metallic gold. The cape is made from a lightweight poly-satin and the same metallic white spandex used on the suit. The bottom of the cape is heat sealed to allow the cape to flow in the wind.

This costume is really amazing and I can only hope my own attempt lives up to the inspiration that yours has become! The details are polished and you just OWN that look! I really hope you do not mind my asking, but that belt looks AMAZING, damn spot on to the real deal in comics, and I'm honestly amazed how you managed to get color match all the pieces of it. I'm having a hell of a time finding even ONE fabric, much less any of the rest and it shows that you really put your work into it. I gotta ask, how did you attach the belt to the buckle? that part has been making me run in circles for weeks now.

Also, how in bloody blazes did you figure out how to do the collar and cape combined!? I've been researching for about a month now (yes, bit of a perfectionist) and I'm not exactly sure how to puzzle that piece together. I am an utter newbie to all of this, it will be my very first cosplay and I've been referring back to your profile constantly for some time now trying to study through observation because I know people don't like getting pestered. But breaking through this one block could really REALLY help me get even hope of having this finished. I just don't know how to put that 'collar' onto the cape without it wrinkling up or looking like some awful Dracula deal. xD

I think your Huntress on a scale of 1 to 10, is an 23.

I love this version of your Huntress outfit and the detail is phenomenal!! Love the pose and , yes, the cape makes you look like a badass. Nice job with all the detailed items for realism and how authentic this really is to be original. It's like you popped out of the comic book and leaped on my monitor.
It would be awesome if you could make it to the wizard world comic con here in Tulsa, OK Nov. 7-9, 2014. I know I would ask for your photo

Thank you, I wish I could hit up more conventions but everything for cosplay and convention comes out of my own pocket so my traveling is limited.

Fantastic work! The cape is great and I'm particularly impressed with all of the detail on the gloves, boots (and knee pads), and utility belt. The mask/headgear, which can look a little awkward at times (I've seen that on other cosplays), is perfect too.

Saw the GIF of your amazing cape in motion.  I'm convinced your cape is powered by the Havok engine or something.

Something an earlier post mentioned made me think: Have you considered the possibility of weathering/aging some of the gear to look used? Your stuff always looks awesome; it might be a neat thing to do to make the stuff look like it's actually been battle-worn.

If the character/costume called for it I would defiantly try weathering and aging pieces.  Helena's costume is usually quite clean and crisp in the comics so I didn't want to detract from that.

I love how "clean-looking" everything is (though, I'm probably not expressing that correctly).  What I'm trying to say is that it's really very cool how everything is so crisp and streamlined -- almost like a comic book illustration come to life.   You should be very proud.  It, to quote Elle-Cosplay, is an amazing creation.

That really is some great craft you got goin on there. Its funny to hear people say traditional comicbook superhero costumes would never work in real life and then to see something like this which looks like Huntress just jumped off the page and its stunning, well, those people quite frankly don't know what the hell they are talking about.

Prime work for sure, superb even.
