Eh, she's not that bad, she was just rushed in and out. Now Suu from Monster Musume, she's a Deus Ex Machina. She occasionally gets new powers at the convenience of the plot. Besides, Kaguya is a cute monster girl. It's hard to ruin something like that with just a poorly handled plot.

Kaguya doesn't get points off for being a monster girl, she's still a deus ex machina.

She wasn't even hinted to have EXISTED until the final FINAL arc. And was made up 
to be the "biggest of big bads" despite the fact that things were perfectly fine by just
have Madara be that and nothing else. And everything she did in that final fight was 
woefully disappointing and contrived.

Maybe not to you, but to me it does.

This is a fictional story, it's ALL made up, just not all planned from the beginning. For example, Kishimoto planned to have missions like the Wave Arc be the focus, but his editor suggested he do a tournament arc afterwards, so the Chunin Exams happened and things deviated from there.

As for "everything she did in that final fight was woefully disappointing and contrived", that's subjective. I thoroughly enjoyed that fight (aside from Obito giving Kakashi the Sharingan from beyond the grave, that was stupid).

Pushing all that aside, I agree that the end of the series was handled pretty poorly, but I don't think Kaguya is a bad character on her own.

I love the touch of yellow and purple to her robe. It looks nice. It was hard to tell if it had more colors in the manga.
