Alternate titles: Rabbit's Reckoning, A Fallen King, Broken Mirror

Another art piece related to Oswald and Epic Mickey. This was a fairly complex job (cropping, resizing, tinting, composition...) and the pictures came from various sources (I'll list them in a minute), so this took a few days to put it all together, but I think it was worth the effort.

Normally, Oswald is a pretty tough guy, but the events of the endgame in Epic Mickey push him to his breaking point. For this image, you can pretend he got beaten up by some Beetleworx trying to get to the Space Voyage rocket (to repair it), and the combination of guilt, despair and pain simply overwhelms him, leading to the tears and despair.

The images along the top and bottom are images in Oswald's mind, and you probably have noticed that Mickey is tinted blue and Oswald is tinted red or orange, opposite the expected colors. This shows the "broken mirror" between him and Mickey, as well as him as a creature of evil (red -> evil color, blue -> good color, and the Blot image also being red tinted). With Scrapper Mickey, this comes from guilt from his anger getting the better of him. With Hero Mickey, this is a "critical failure" from the combination of shame, guilt and despair inside him. And in either case, Oswald goes from villain to hero as a result of hitting this low point.

There's a companion to this image I have yet to make. Hopefully, I'll get it up here as soon as I get it done...
