Great painting. You have perfectly captured the sense of the mundane, enforced order and uniformity of the suburbs and the splash of red is so effective. I remember reading an interview with Lux and Ivy of the Cramps talking about their life in suburbia and how they acted out being a normal part of suburbia to fit in and avoid antagonising the neighbours while expressing their true selves on stage. The emotion is always bubbling under the surface and occasionally surfaces. How many times do we hear on the news. 'Such a quiet place. I'm shocked this could happen here.'
