This one was tricky to make DOF but I think I start to grasp the concept

I know what you mean. I had no idea what to do with DOF with DS3. It wasn't until I got DS4 that it finaly clicked...after the help of tutorials ofcourse, hahaha. Once it clicked, it wasn't so bad though. Now the problem is knowing when to use it, and when not to as it's tempting to use it all the time, hehehe
