Number 6 in my series of Request an Original Character pics. This is Zalarus, I drew him for ~Zalyz . Zipping Zpiffing, zizn't he?

Zorry.

Zome Info: Zalarus is the "graphic description" of ~Zalyz (isn't that so much nicer than saying "over-powered alter-ego? ). His name is a combination of his creator, and Icarus, the son of the Greek (in my opinion) hero Daedelus, who fell into the sea and drowned after flying too close to the sun. ~Zalyz described him as:

"...A warrior, with a monumental inner-strength. Capable of defeating anything standing against him, as long as he manages to hold his thoughts together and keep control of his rage. A rage fuelled by his dark past, and by the horrible things he witnessed as a child.
Wise, thinking thoroughly every action, every step he takes.
His purpose? Freedom. He fights to free everyone from their dark reality, and against all the demons inside everyone that he meets."

I think it prudent to note that I had those words going through my head the entire time I was drawing this, and hints to his character and his motivation and personality(s) are scattered all over his costume. I hope ~Zalyz will be able to recognize most of them without my help.

Trivial Notes: ~Zalyz provided me with some pictures he had found that somewhat resembled his character. One of these was Uriel by *Wen-M . Basically I took one look at that and started weeping. When I had recovered I went on a pilgrimage to the land of *Wen-M 's gallery, and there discovered some helpful muses in the forms of Michael and Metatron, who provided most of the inspiration and pointers for Zalarus's costume, as I am sure anyone with half-way working eyeballs can tell. And, while this is still nothing near the level of the great *Wen-M , I should mention that this is also about ten times more complicated that anything I've ever drawn before, detail-wise. In that sense, it is very much a masterpiece.

Zalarus's sword was designed with Uriel's in mind, as Zalyz specified that as the possible look for his weapon. I took the liberty of incorperating my own ideas into it, however, and it is actually two swords joined together at the hilt, which can be split apart in battle. I imagine they would be used in a very "Rapier and Dagger" sort of way.

So there you have it. I hope he rings accord with you, Zalyz. Best of luck, my friend.
