I find it fascinating that we are all made of star stuff. Even Fido.
This was done as a "lunch break" painting. Back when I worked as an In-house Graphic Artist in 2015, I would usually paint little ideas like these while on my 30min break at work. Typically they take several weeks to finish. It's a nice way to refresh mid-day.

I love how someone else described this concept. "Magical realism". What a perfect choice of words! ;;;; Looking at this, I'm reminded of my dogs who've passed away.. but at the same time, it's comforting? ; u ;; I'm not sure if this was your intention behind the piece, but it's like a tribute to the fuzzy (or feathered, or scaly!) friends we've lost, but only physically-- while their souls live on forever. Just as the Greeks immortalized their heroes in the stars...

What a wonderful concept and beautiful execution. The balance of light and dark here is wonderful, and I love the palette you've selected. This, to me, is a wonderful visual expression of magic realism--realistic but at the same time magical. Truly delightful. I had to put in some extra work today, and I saw this first thing: it made my day. Thanks for sharing.
