This was supposed to be my entry for #HarryPotter-FanGroup 's contest, but I didn’t finish in time... oh well.
The theme was "Test".

In my opinion Salazar Slytherin's locket is the greatest test for Ron.

My reasons:

When Ron wears the locket it supports his dark thoughts which he tries to fight, although he loses in the end and abandons his friends. Yet the decision to come back to Harry and Hermione tests his friendship, loyalty, courage and love for Hermione. Ron has to apologize to them and admit he made a mistake which can be very hard!

Ron also shows great bravery when he destroys the locket, since he has to face the locket's tormenting and must overcome his fears. His friendship is tested too, because instead of destroying the horcrux, he might have chosen to turn against Harry, seeing that the locket was saying he was the enemy.

One of the consequences of the locket is facing Hermione. Standing up to her takes a great deal of courage, because Ron hurt her so much and he has to prove his love to her.
