Another Christmas Wishlist item, this one for *Ilyana88 of her character Hinto .

I think I officially killed my hand on this one. I was originally going to go for one of her canine characters because I was balking at the idea of drawing a horse, then I challenged myself to do so. I used a reference for this one, obviously. What I like best is that the reference was taken in summer (I assume) at a beach, as a horse ran through the waves. Since I wanted to do a snow picture and wanted to do one of her horses running through the snow, it seemed this ref would be perfect - change the water to snow and voila!

But really - I had a lot of fun with this one. I've always wanted to do a really detailed, shiny horse like this, with the sunlight glinting of its skin. This was the perfect opportunity to experiment.

The best thing about having the horse this deep in the snow... no need to draw those dreaded hooves!
