Back Again! Today is Michael Myers from the Halloween series.I expect to get some flak for this one as I chose to do the Michael from the most recent film. To be honest it was mostly due to the texture of the mask. I really like the cracked details and I wanted to capture that in paint. I have not seen the newest Halloween it was purely a visual call. I apologize to the purists.
I went really different with this one in the fact that I wanted the colors to be more diluted and sick looking.

I am not a fan of Rob Zombie's remake(s) of Halloween but I love your depiction of this version. I agree the "new" Michael Myers with the filthy-looking, cracked mask looks cool. But, as with all of RZ's movies... I find them full of great new ideas but unfortunately the cool ideas often get drowned by RZ's weird, shaky-cam directing style, and his miserably boring habit of making every dialog scene devolve into people yelling the F word at each other for no apparent reason. I don't get how that is supposed to be entertaining, but I believe the man's heart is in the right place and I like what he is "trying" to do. Basically I keep watching and waiting. One of these days I'm sure he'll make a horror movie that clicks with me.

As much of a Halloween fan I used to be, I haven't seen the newest one because it never came here. I do have the recent Rob Zombie one that relaunched the series again ... a rather foul mouthed and gory movie, but with some pretty cool actors.

honestly i think Rob Zombie's first Halloween film was pretty good, not the original obviously. But i heard his newest one went a little too far and was kind of a disappointment.
but this is a great pic! wonderful work on the shadow and details!

Rob totally rocked the new movies, in my opinion, so no apology needed in my case, but I know other will "testify" otherwise, lol. Nice work. Definitely, the mask in the new movie has way more going on. I could see it being much more interesting to interpret, visually.
