Well I'm no expert but I'll answer what questions I can I think a good thing to do in the meantime though is just experiment with it - apart from the wear and tear it's pretty much free. Take a sequence of shots of the same subject (a still life is good) but at different ISO settings or aperture values etc. and see what difference it makes - you can read up on the fundamentals but it's more fun and easoer to understand just by playing about with it and as an added bonus you become a lot more comfortable with the camera as well.

Aww, a great shot and title! I couldn't believe the news coverage I saw of the hoards of ladybirds affecting some places this year!

I wasn't aware of that - I know there was an invasion of Harlequin ladybirds a year or two ago as we had a plague of them in the garden, so it was good to see the native ones making a come back. I'll have to do some Googling

always <3 the ladybugs.

I think it's been a good year for our native ones

sooo cute!!! (I hope that isn't a hinge they're hiding in! Or they may get squished )
grimleyfiendish In reply to kayaksailor [2009-08-26 22:15:32 +0000 UTC]
It is a hinge, well spotted . They're safe though as it's the hinge in a clasp so there's plenty of clearance. No ladybirds were harmed in the closing of that gate
