Well, it's sad to say it like that, but pepole seems more subject to give a donation after a free download, or randomly after giving some "favs") than to give the same amout for a purshase. For those who give something, I mean. I never used Gimp for now but since I've just noticied that almost all the brush I took to get started are from you I considere giving you points as soon as I will have some, if it can help you to get premium.
After all, your brushes seems to be high quality and you spent time on this subject for cross programs as I've seen you done some for both Gimp, Krita and PhotoShop, so why "pros" should be paid and not "artist" for the same work that is creating brushes ? I know points don't buy food (same problem here even if I'm still a newbie as I said before) but at least it's a miminum to respect for someone's works. As soon as I get some comissions by points I'll see how I can pay your brushes, since it's thanks to your work that I have more tools to start digital drawing.
Anyway, the comment seems a bit akward so let end it with a akward half-joke: "How many points is the bill for what I downloaded ?" ^^

No problem about the lateness in replies, we all are busy with our lives after all ^^"
I still have to learn how to use your brushs, or should I say any brushs since I'm new to other programs than Paint.net, as I nearly only done pixel art until now, but they're good so far. I done a little test with the Environment and texture sets, but it's clear that I lack seriously of practice in artworks.
Anyway, you should still let active the donation widget on your profile, even at bottom and with no particular reasons. I seen profiles with no descriptions of donation, no special or even fanart deviations, and yet big total of donations even if the guys were not doing comissions, so random donations is better than nothing.
And you maybe had a little surprise in your point count, that's more symbolic than usefull at this amount, but I'm a one word man, and your words make the brushs even more worthy to be paid. I mean, you worked on all those brushes and a "thanks" is the bill when others put 4 brushs at 250 points ? That's just too generous.

Mypaint was the program on what I made my only "100% tablet drawing" (this one ) around two-three years ago. A friend let me try her tablet back then, so before I got mine less than one month ago I never had one in hand again. It is a good program for the tools, only what we need as base brushs to stay focused.
The only point I remember really annoying is how tricky was the zoom tool. The canvas was just a little too small, then when I wanted to make it larger and it goes so far than my painting was like a pixel, same to come back I lost some time in the zoom tool back then ^^"
I done a quick coloring on two characters with the tablet 10 days ago, but on Paint.net (no brushes). Anyway, when you'll see the scenery I done with your brushes you will see how noob I still am for using them. I'm not aifraid of saying it, I'm a total newbie conserning the use of brushs and my skills are not what they were when I drawn the deviation I link in this comment, at least conserning painting.
Thanks for the tips about the website, it's marked to not be lost. I'll try to get used to Gimp and get back to Mypaint too before starting another program, no need to rush in every programs, I better train and improve on the ones I know. Oh and one more (random) thing, have you a specific tip about earth and rock textures ? I'm never able to paint them correctly, it just look like..well..like in the painting I linked, flat.

Aye.. textures - well i would say try to avoid using specific texture brushes. Textures do not add depths to a painting, only details.
I have taken a look into your gallery and i think you should focus on learning about color and light. ItΒ΄s essential to get an understanding
about that if you want to add depth and vitality to your paintings. It might help to stay with only a few basic brushes - all the special stuff
is not really a help in the beginning - unfortunately there is no easy way^^

Shure, "Automn tree" was more a test than really a drawing (done in less than 30min). What I intend to do with brushes is more painting myself, then add over the painting some revalent effects, not make them do all the work. It is especialy true with rocks and clothes, what always stay too close to the skin and other textures even when I take the time to polish them. I have not that much this problem in traditional, but I'm trying to learn the rules of digital, since brushs are a little more complex to use than I heard before.
Of course there is no easy way, but I'm not going pro on illustrations so it's ok. I just need to be average and can do some things myself, to create the mock-up and demos of hte projects I'm working on. After all, a game can have the best consepts, if the client can not even identify it visualy it is hard to get to the point, so instead of asking artists I try to create the ressources myself, at least in developpment state. This can help the collabotators too to have a reference, if they're not used to draw in this format.

Thx
Gimp is also available for the Mac OS. (since August of this year) I have no experience with gimp on a mac but i am pretty sure that it will run very well.Β
Layered Brushes are a series of images used during the brushstroke in a defined way. For example 1 2 3 4 as images with defined spacing and randomly applied to the brushstroke or in a straight series.. There is nothing that has to be known specifically to use them - just the creation is a bit more complicated.

Oh yes I have GIMP on my Mac, but I thought the brushes might not work on it since it was listed as Windows. Hmmm I'll have to think about that. Sounds interesting!
