like a jail? oh god, I don't understand. I never wanted to hurt another in my LIFE. self harm and hurting others are two different actions completely.

What I'm getting at is the sick should not be in jail UNLESS they have physically harmed someone ELSE.

They HAVE. Just because they are in the insane ward in jail doesn't mean they haven't.
I talked to an ex-guard when I visited the place and we talked of that area and he said that area usually housed the rapists and mentally ill and people who hurt children and etc. who couldn't handle being in the general prison population.
