Talons are a what....they are what you call a bird feet. His extremely sharp claws are talons.

i am amazed that i recognized the bird before the back drop. of course ive been visiting the bird show for years *blush* im just that kinda crazy. even if blury, still a great shot.

Ah, I like that! The bird IS the focus, after all! You have a GREAT zoo and I'll be back again this year also! I really enjoyed this show and hopefully my bird photography will improve this year. I've been getting some really good suggestions on how to improve; it's only a matter of actually doing it! Easier said than done! Thanks for liking this shot as well. As I said, it isn't the best, but I did love those talons!
