The foal is Manny and the mare is Zanny (his mother).
Manny was born at my barn on Wednesday. He was 4.5 days old when I took this. Zanny is a Belgian and we don't know who the father is (my barn doesn't breed horses). We got Zanny in November and we didn't find out until a week before Manny was born that she was pregnant. (She came to us kind of skinny and it was not apparent that she was pregnant, but Manny was born healthy).
Manny was named after a horse that we had to put to sleep (because of medical reasons) the same day that we found out that Zanny was pregnant.
