1. Simple line sketch to rough out the pose and composition of the image. 2. Black and white quick render to determine what kind of lighting looks good. Sometimes I skip this step if I'm really confident. 3. Quick flat paint of local colors to determine what colors the lights and shadows should assume. 4. More rendering via simple painting, while integrating the line sketch into the final drawing. 5. Continue rendering and look out for alternate compositions that may look better. 6. Using various modification layers such as multiply, soft light, hard light etc, render out the lighting a bit more. Plus some final post-processing work to round it off.

Can you do a tutorial to make that painterly grain filter you put in all of your works?

Got question I'd like to ask.
What tools did you use on your painting program to use other color you think it's better? Is it color balance or ...?
In step 4, did you still use different layer or already integrating to one layer for simplicity?

Most of the time I use multiply and soft light layers to adjust the hues and values if need be. I usually only merge down modifier layers when I'm satisfied and and sure I will not need to remove/ redo any major part.

I love your style! Are you using model to draw? Or photos?

Your process is pretty amazing! I love that you work in your greyscale first that must make it easier to understand the lighting! Thank you for sharing!
