I'm not expert when it comes to critiquing or digital art but I'll try my hand at this. One of my favourite things about this piece is that it has an incredibly beautiful colour palette, with very realistic tones that aren't too pastel or bright, which works in favour of this piece, creating a relaxed look and not taking away from anything. The shading is also really wonderful, and I love how it takes advantage of contrasting warm and cool colours. It's subtle but really wonderful. The dragon even has subtle hints of pinks and it all flows very nice together. There's a really solid sense of backgrond, middleground, and foreground and the way it is arranged is very unique. My favourite thing about this piece is the sky which has a wonderful colour scheme, and the mountains in the background. The only thing that I think needs a little bit more practice (though practice on everything never hurts!) are the closer by mountains, which could use some more texture to look more rock-like and the water, which I think would look a bit nicer with more movement and texture evident. That being said the soft look of the water and rock does work in this painting, and the whole painting is very harmonious, great work!

Hey long time no talk~!
Your painting looks great so far, I love the detail and it's nice to see that you haven't changed your character much~! ^^
However, the colors look a little flat, so I'd like to suggest that you up the contrast and saturation a bit next time you paint.

Well thank you Β

Any recommendations specifically where? I posted it because I felt it needed more but I'm unsure how to continue Β

In the distant background specifically.

Like I understand that over a certain distance that the colors tend to fade, but there is still a certain level of contrast and usually a kind of blue-ish or purple tint as the distance increases. Here are some examples of what I'm referring to:

  • omraam-words-of-light.org/2014…
  • www.blorge.com/images/TheArtof…
  • And here is a random page about perspective . I don't think you'll need it too much, but there may be some good tips in here~
