she's not okayyou see the joy in her smile
but the pain in her eyes
you hear the delight in her laughter
but the agony behind her words
no
she is not okay
she puts on makeup everyday
but you can see see the dark circles
under her eyes
she doesn't sleep
she doesn't eat
she doesn't try
she's slowly fading away
and yet no one notices
no
they just notice the mask
they don't see that whenever they turn away
her eyes glaze over
her smile vanishes
and her glow dies away
you don't see her at 2 am
when she's cries herself to sleep
wondering where it all went wrong
in fact
you don't see her at the mall
at the park
or at the food joint anymore
you don't see her anywhere
she wants to be
her bed is her only comfort zone
large crowds bother her
loud noises scare her
she used to shine
she used to be the happiest,
most bubbly woman you've ever met
laughter, jokes, stories
but like all things
it began to deteriorate over time

she's not okay
she needs help
she needs a shoulder to cry on
and an ear to listen
if only their eyes could see
and realize what is right in front of them
pay attention
notice her habits
her smile isn't as big
her laugh isn't as sincere
her whole self being isn't as radiant
pay attention
notice her
talk to her

but she silently screaming at you to see
open your eyes
look at her
