Description An Eldar Banshee dispatches a group of Dark Eldar Incubi...

This is my first piece done entirely digitally, again from the WH40K universe (a great source of inspiration that be!).
This Eldar Banshee is a character I'm re-using from an earlier work...I might even use this character again whilst she's wandering a nameless Imperial planet wasteland dispatching anything that gets in her way.

Created using Adobe Photoshop, Autodesk Sketchbook Designer, a Wacom Cintiq and an Intuos 4. I like the clean lines this technique produces but missing my pencils!

I'm for Banshee, because she's against Dark Eldars and a girl.

wooot! craftworld eldar> commoraghans. imo.
anywho, she must be an exarch to beat the incubi mercs who're pretty awesome warriors.

what I like about thi is that suposingly an Incubi is suppost to kill and destory a soulstone from an exarch, which that being know this gives this image mor of a deeper-ness that i like...and i lost track of were i mgong but you get the point

epic work my good sir!!

Glad you like it! All the comments I'm getting are giving me ideas of a next Eldar piece...that fragility of the soulstone might be something I'll make more of in the next piece too.

Great piece of work I really love the perspective

The only flaw is: I own both armies and from experience I know that the Inccubi would tear the Banshee apart in no-time

Banshees win. Statistically so, as they strike first and have 1 more attack. The Incubi have 1 more Strength. They have the exact same stats, except armor saves where the Incubi are better, but none can take armor saves in this fight.

Glad you like it! I take the point about the Incubi but I liked their look for the piece...although I'm wondering if she should be an Exarch for next time if she's going to be doing these one on many battles

Unless she were an Exarch.

Nice, but too... Human, in my humble opinion. Eldar should hit the "uncanny valley" - human-looking, but with just enough "alien" that they become disturbing rather than alluring.

Other than that nit-pick, I love the image. It's dynamic, the colours are crisp and the details splendid.

Appreciate the comments Fair point about her look...I think that's something I'll work on in later pieces, probably more of an Eldar study than an ensemble piece so I can concentrate on how they look. I think as they look relatively human it's harder to get that mix, unlike Orks who are ridiculous, therefore easier
However I may have to do a Guardian rather than an Aspect warrior next time as I'm going to have to put a helmet on a Banshee otherwise I'm going to get lynched lol!

Awesome work! Really like the movement effect you can get digitally there hehe But a banshee without her mask? It's like Judge Dredd with no helmet...just seems wrong hehe Still an amazing piece

Ta very much! I thought about the mask issue but I wanted to give the Banshee a personality...a little artistic license was therefore employed She lost her helmet on the battlefield...honest...those Eldar are forgetful types. I'm sure I'll get grief over it lol! As for Dredd...I remember the Sly film and thinking angry thoughts that involved rabid weasels.
Still, it's not as bad a sparkly vampires.

Idea for next time: try to put the helmet somewhere in the drawing, to hint on what happened before. Like, an already slain dark eldar somewhere in the background who has somehow managed to pull her mask of... and that was the last thing he did.

Good work overall.

Like that a lot...would have told more of a story...got me thinking of maybe going a group of Banshees, one with a lost helmet. Thanks for the comments!

It's right up there hehe Clint Eastwood would have been an awesome Dredd Jawline and never take the helmet off! I agree on the vampires...*shudder*....I'll forgive you your artistic license!
