•Sewing: Being an A+ klutz, Yin always rips and tears her clothing quite often leading to a very unhappy adult to fix them. Growing rather fearful of the burden of having other's fix her clothes, Yin took it upon herself to learn how to do so herself.
• Cooking: Before living with her wealthy aunt and uncle, Yin was normally home alone due to her parents distant travels of business. Having neighbors and other relatives at the time teaching her to cook things for herself if there was a time of her being alone.
•Oragami: While the other two are also often dangerous situations for Yin, due to her clumsiness, Yin took the hobby of doing oragami since it's probably the safest thing she can do.

Personality: Yin is painfully shy and modest when meeting new people. She is rather clumsy and very accident prone that she feels embarrassment for her simple mistakes, often leading her to be rather recluse to people due to this. Having enduring strict etiquette under her aunt's supervision, Yin is very polite and proper to everyone. Even though she is a fire bender she is resentful to actually using her bending skills after an incident of catching her hair on fire when she was younger. However she will use it if she ever feels she is in danger.

Looking up to the jovial bender in front of her, Yin quickly nods her head before darting her eyes away from the cheerful smile that was facing her. "I....er-- I... tripped ..." She meekly replied not looking at the person who asked why she possessed a bandage on her hand, ".... I was....J-just heading home ....A-at the time." Embarrassment spread across her face reliving the blunder of a cat owl intercepting her way home. Out of all the minimal things that Yin disliked, she has a dissatisfied uneasiness to question's leading to her injuries. To outsiders one would think she was in an unhealthy relationship with an abusive significant other, however; the reality of this is her own simple mistakes. Mistakes in which she find's embarrassing to mention due to the disappointing looks she receives after telling mundane truths.

• Her parents are traveling entrepreneurs, and have always traveled to different points in the Fire Nation and it's previous colonies to set up business. Having to constantly move Yin finally stayed with her aunt and uncle of her mother's side to receive proper education and training of her firebending.
• After her parents finally settling down in Republic City for a permanent position, Yin moved back with her parents after 7 years living with her relatives.
• She has secret admiration to actors and performers because of their bold and courageous behaviors. She too one day wishes to possess the courage like them.
• She is part of a lineage of fire benders, and never thought of the idea of multicultural relationships with other benders. To her she never thought such a thing was possible.
• Rather fearful to all animals.
• Very ignorant and naive since she has been pampered and sheltered at her home in the Fire Nation.
