Yes, the handle is black. I used a liquid kind of plastic used to coat the handles of tools to give them a better grip.

Wow! All of the other gunblades I've seen have... well... sucked. Either made of cardboard and wrapped in tin foil, or made of wood and spray painted grey, poorly. Yours is just awesome.
Would you mind explaining to me (private or whatever) how you made your sword? I'm planning out my Squall/Leon costume, and I have no idea where to begin with the gunblade. Heh.
