Description Amaterasu redesign. I know there are a lot of personified drawings of Amaterasu floating around the web, but I haven't seen many that go for a more armored look, so I thought I might give it a try.

This redesign was pretty heavily influenced by "Monster Hunter" motifs while retaining a lot of Okami's design motifs. Although she doesn't use a bow in the original games, I figured the weapon might be interesting here both for its elegance and to add a mythological spin where she shoots a "sun"-like arrow across the sky to manipulate day and night.

Enjoy! Comments and critiques are appreciated.

Beautiful, it's rare to see Ammy in armor. I especially love your version of it, still has that demon-kicking Ammy part yet you still designed her to retain her Sun Goddess elegance. Overall, well done!

Really nice colors! And you're right, there isn't a lot of art out there with Ammy with a more armored look. You did great with the armor design (both elegant and practical), and that bow looks awesome! I really enjoy both the MH and Okami series, so it's fun seeing a picture drawing influence from both. Excellent work!

Probably because heavy armor motif isn't really the style of the Okami universe. That said though, blending MH armors with Okami design was still a lot of fun! Thanks for the comment.

Oh that is beautiful! Those stylistic elements really look great as actual objects in actual gear. Loving the bow in particular. Reminds me more of Toukiden than MH though. But that's probably because of the ancient japan feel. Awewome job.

This design was more inspired by Jhen Mohran and Amatsugamatsuchi armors, but Toukiden influences is openly welcome! Do you play that by any chance? I admit I'm having a lot of fun playing that game due to its similarities with MH. xD

Oh hell yes! I think Toukiden is by far THE best and closest MH clone available in any handheld out there. I still think it lacks the depth and polish of MH, but it's new and fresh enough. Fresh enough that I haven't played a single game of MH3U ever since I got the meat of Toukiden. I just wish the Online experience was better. DX
