Because true love traverses beyond even death......Obviously Shura and Aiolos instead of Sisyphus El Cid because, well, One of them is clearly dead and the other clearly isn't.....Maybe I'll redo it and high-light Shura's figure instead and THEN he'll be El Cid......
.......I'm not sure why I did this exactly...I've never actually given this pair very much thought.....but then I read a Milo/Camus fic that mentioned it and I went "oh you know what I ownder what that'd look like"
obviously set quite a while after Aiolos's death....when you know, Shura is actually old enough to view someone romantically....and as devoted as he is....
Well people keep writing fics about how Aiolia owuld sometimes see after images of his brother throughout his childhood. What if Shura did too?
......come on, even non believers have to admit he must have dwelled on the killing his best friend thing a lot. He remembered it well enough to it to be rendered in full color detail. In fact, through him and Aiolia we probably know Aiolos best out of all the gold saints ....exceptions being Kannon and Dohko both of which who had their own arches in which to stand out.

Fanfiction account not yet.Β I'm just writing itΒ Β (Β I've written about 10 chapter, but the firt two not yet!! ) ....It starts from the end of hades chapter, but I've changed some things I don't like in Kuru ideas , first of all Saint's age: in my novel they are about 25, I think it's more realistic Β if you want to talk about contents like war (among humans and gods), death, mythology, story,psychology, love and most of all sex (even there are no vulgar scenes, it's a story just for an adult reader ). Well when I start to add it on web I 'd be very honoured if you try to read it in italian!!....In the comment of some fanarts which will be the illustrations of my novel I tried to translate some pieces in your language, as you read for "the forgiveness" of Athena and Pegasus.

You're right, I think several years older would probably be a more realistic age for the kind of emotional wringer the canon universe puts it's characters through.
Even so...I guess I like the idea that e was thirteen when the Hades chapter happened. Maybe...maybe it is less realistic, and yet, it gives me as a viewer a sense of urgency, of greatness. Because if a kid at thirteen can understand things like self sacrifice and the willing to keep standing up, keep fighting...well then what right I do I have to sit around and do nothing special...you know?
But I understand your making them older...the romantic plot wouldn't work otherwise. As they are in the classic series...well let's just say I think they both need to do a little growing up before they can really be together

I think that people should live experiences that are right for their age in that moment... war, killing or sacrifice are too much for young adolescents....even if looking around there so many children in this world that are forced to kill, suffer and die too much young, you know...At 13 years you are still a little more than a child!!!

Romantic plot...yes, it seems to start as a romantic plot, but their decision to be together as a couple, will have collateral-effects for everybody, maybe for the wuole world (Saori is always Athena, and Seiya just one of his Saints, and their roles and tasks are so much different!), and it will change into a dramatic story!!!Β

Shura is having visions of Aiolos! In my understandign he probably became a little obsessive after our beloved Sagittarius saint bit the dust! As he grew up, obsession COULD have turned into fixation and he might've fallen in love with this image of what Aiolos used to be.
A little creepy to be sure, but in a grim way it's also heart-breaking.

You see... I don't dislike Shura, but I hate how he is portrayed in the anime. Of course, thanks to him we see Aiolos a bit more, and know why such a strong Gold Saint died. But what annoys me in the flashback is 1. that Shura is too old to be the kid he is supposed to be thirteen years ago and 2. he doesn't show any pain about having to kill his best friend. Instead, they put a quite mean expression on his face. That's why I prefer the Episode G Shura. In Episode G, he at least has his doubts and doesn't really want to kill Aiolos, rather just immobilize him. For that, I prefer El Cid to Shura; El Cid is probably the best friend of Sisyphus and vice versa. Just the way I imagine how it was between Aiolos and Shura. However, that's the point, we can only imagine it. The anime shows us nothing of it, rather, the opposite.
Can't wait to see more Aiolos and/or Sisyphus from you!

Yeah, he was kind of...old in the flashback...I didn't know he was supposed to be a kid back then until I entered the fandom and then I was like wait....what?....I do agree with you that the expression they gave him was unnecessary and kind of creepy. I mean obviously Shura wasn't meant to be a character that was inherently evil or callous like say Deathmask, but they don't give him any warm expressions or even really the steely frown that seems to be permanently frozen on El Cid's face. Instead he's usually smiling....and looking like an evil bastard while he does (WTF?). At least his thoughts show you that he's a devoted decent saint of Athena who just happens to be on the wrong side through no fault of his own.
I don't like how Ep G is drawn, the art style's a little....iffy for me, but it does give the gold saints more complex personalities than we have otherwise seen, which I am glad for.
I am actually two days short of being a Leo, putting me just barely inside the Cancer camp....I wish I was a Leo though, I liked Aiolia!

Yeah, the style needs some getting used to. n.n" When I first read it, I could have cried, because the only other official manga where Aiolos appears (and even with own Gaidens!) is spoiled by such awful drawings. But now I am used to it, and I realised the only ones still looking good (even in their Gold Cloths) are Aiolos and Aiolia. n.n I love them even in Episode G. But still, I wished Episode G was drawn more in the style of Kurumada. Because like this, we have again to imagine how the scenes would look like in the anime/manga. But it is still cool we got an entire comic on the Gold Saints.
Cancer, huh? Well, I got to know Deathmask first, and I hated him. But then Lost Canvas came out, and I immediately thought: Manigoldo is THE Cancer Saint! The same with Pisces: I hated Aphrodite, but I love Albafica. Oh, and talking about Cancerians: I like Hakurei and Sage too. n.n I'm not into old geezers, but they are two of the awesomest old geezers in the world of anime.

Oh my god, Ep G Shura and Camus...it was almost painful. Lol my only comfort is Aiolia and his big green shoujo-fied eyes! (why is he red-headed now BTW?)hm...yeah or maybe if Toei were to offer to buy Ep G off of the original creator and reproduce it with Umakoshi (who did Casshern Sins...and coughinspiredbyarakisenseicough) or Teshirogi (lost canvas) so it at least vaguely resembles the other series. We're lucky there have been people who have taken the time to make fanart for it.
But then I guess this person had to be really dedicate to make the entire thing.
Yup, so many of the original gold saints were either down right assholes (Deathmask, Shaka, Aphrodite) or practically non-entities (Camus, Milo, Aldebaran). I like how LC gave a little more to the fans in regards to their gold saints. Albafica's death was really sad...and so was Manigoldo's (I was looking forward seeing him dick around!). I can't wait for Gaiden to come out.

Well, about the red hair, I can explain. n.n Aiolia is naturally blonde. But not to resemble his brother (considered traitor that time) too much, he decided to die it red. This is explained early in the manga, when he comes out of the bath and being blonde, not red. Lythos just had come back from buying him red hair die to make them red again.
Yeah, I know, he must have awesome drawing skills. But they are of no use when one can't recognises what he draws, right? I got a lot of trouble with some fight scenes. It wouldn't be a problem if the entire manga was colored. But only black and white make it reather difficult...

Well, I guess I got used to the style. But some battl e scenes are still confusing... But yeah, the storyline of Episode G is awesome. We get to see a lot more of the Goldies... yet, somehow not enough. I wished we would have learned about their childhoods, their parents, their masters... but yeah. At least they get some action.

Hm, I don't dislike El Cid. And inside, he's a good guy. But his exterior is sometimes too cold for my liking. Well, I don't think you can rush with drawing. n.n" Not if you do such detail work like in Lost Canvas. Besides, before she can get to Sisyphus, she needs to finish Dohko anyway. And I have no idea which Saint will come after Dohko... hopefully it will be Sisyphus... But it's Teshirogi's desicion. We'll see.

So, Cancer you are? The only Cancer Saint I like so far is Manigoldo. XD Deathmask was just plain evil, and don't get me started on Cancer Death Toll (the one from Next Dimension). Latter is just ugly. Deathmask and Manigoldo at least don't look bad. But Death Toll? Urgh. No, it's crystal clear. Manigoldo is THE Cancer Saint. Maybe a bit too fond of violence, but at least he's got his heart at the right place (unlike Deathmask). And yeah, Sage and Hakurei are two of the very few cool old men in the entire world of anime.

Well, I myself am a Sagittarius. And I wished I was more like Aiolos and Sisyphus... especially like Aiolos. See, I got a younger sister, just like Aiolos got his younger brother Aiolia. Sigh... man, I don't know what was going on with me all those years. I wished I was a way better older sister to her. Just like Aiolos was a great older brother to Aiolia. But well. I try my best now to be there for her when she needs me. However, she hardly needs me. Especially since Dad and our... "stepmom" (she's not married to dad) are here for her.

Still though, it's not always easy to be as affectionate as one would like to be to our family members. I mean in the case of Aiolos and Aiolia, they spent almost every waking moment together, and Aiolos was theo nly family Aiolia had. It's not so surprising they really depend on each other. On the case of your sister, I think you should just try to spend more time with her, do something you both like to do, you know? These days, it's rare for a kid to have so many problems that they need to be rescued from them (as oppose to saint training) The relationship will come around on it's own. You don't have to force it, just...be available

I know, I know. Thanks for the advice. It would be perfect, and you're completely right. There is just one tiny little problem... she hardly has time. During the day, she works, and the rest of her time she has got other stuff to do (like she's playing the flute - very good, that is, and she's in our village's wind orchestra). At least she knows she can come anytime.

The problem with Kurumada is he's rather lazy when it comes to minor plot detailing. His scenes would have so much more impact if he'd just take the time to slow down, and throw on a few embellishments, give motivations and things. On the other hand, that's one the cool things about Saint Seiya. It's one of the few series where you really could take things and just kind of run with them. Like, you fall in love with a character because you've been allowed to kind of fill in the open gaps, so like the Aiolos I fell in love with is (at least a little) MY Aiolos. The fanwork output for this show is just massive, and a lot of it is actually pretty good!

Aiolia was definitely a more solid character and more noble than Regulus was, but I feel like he was cheated out of his real potential in the classic series. It was evident in the Hades chapter that the man could kick some real ass if he wanted to. However, since his epiphany meeting Athena I have been waiting for his awesome I'M-THE-HERO moment that never really came...I mean come on! KANON GOT ONE and he wasn't even a gold saint to begin with!

See, they could have at least tried to give the characters the right elements. Like, would you have guessed that Might Guy and Konohamaru were Capricorns? They act more like air or fire signs. At least Kakashi acts like a Virgo, and Sakura like an Aries (at least later on, when she trained under Tsunade). And yeah, probably you are right about Camus and Aphrodite. n.n" What annoys me about the Saints, they all act almost the same. Brave, strong, for Athena. They only have few distinct differences. Hm, thinking about it, at least the Bronce Saints. I think, the Gold Saints act more like their Zodiac Signs.

That's absolutely true. It's unfair that Kanon is the only one gettin a second chance. I mean, second chances are okay. But then all should get them. And not become Spectres (like Saga, Camus, Shura, Aphrodite and Deathmask and Shion) or remain dead and be revived to only die again (like Aioros).

Well the strong brave and devoted thign might just be a matter of upbringing. I mean, it makes sense that to make good saints you would tell a kid over and over again that Athena is the ultimate good and her soldiers must all be good and just people (doesn't always work DEATHMASK AND APHRODITE). Haha Shun is less 'Virgo' and more 'princess' I think XD

I KNOW! Even Shaka and Dohko had their epic badass moments! Milo Aiolia and Mu had to settle for the one instance of Athena exclamation (granted that was a beautifully drawn scene) and convenient plot device! And Shura just keeps pulling the short end of the stick doesn't he? He's like Aiolos's Milo (forever define as THAT guy's former best friend). Aiolos at least go to work his magic through the Seiya factor.

Seiya doesn't count, he only appears as spirit and in flashbacks. But first Capricorn Ionia betrays Athena (Capricorn! Of all Gold Saints, Capricorn!), then Leo Mykenae. And now Taurus Harbinger. I really wonder how the battle goes on. I still am not convinced of Omega. But, it made me appreciate the five original Bronce more.

Well, that's the problem with all Gold Saints. We know so few about their backgrounds. Well, about the Lost Canvas Gold Saints we know more, especially thanks to the Gaidens. But still...

This cements it! Schooling doesn't do a thing for saints! lol the original five never went to school, look how much ass THEY kicked!....Silver saints seem to stay at the same level of lame though. It's like promotion to Silver saint automatically makes you suck...Maybe that's why Jabu retired. he got promoted to silver saint and becoming a cowboy was the lesser evil
