I decided to actually spend some time setting up the background- apparently Rome’s invited everyone over for cheese and bread and story time. Mama Egypt is here but I haven’t given her many lines so I might adjust that haha. (Germania is not here because I always forget him and Rome only invites civilized people I’m so sorry Germania)

Historical Notes
Everyone knows the gist of the Romulus and Remus story so I’m not going to go too much in detail. The focus of this comic is Rome’s origins, and I want to introduce bits and pieces that you can research on your own if you are interested. c: (Sidenote: I have no idea how many times I listened to Fundamentum while drawing this, but it was a lot)
The Romans used a dating system based on the fasti - the list of consuls. We can match their chronology more or less up with Greek chronology, but it’s still a bit screwy. This is the modernized date accepted by scholars as the founding of Rome according to the Romans.
