Description UGH
THIS IS HORRIBLE
but believe it or not it WAS worse. XD
I just wanted to get this done.

THIS is what happens when I'm too lazy to hook up my scanner or find myself without access to one... I had to use my camera. >< I PROMISE I'll come back and fix this.
Anyway everything about this page is bad and I apologize.

The drawings themselves when I look at them in person? I'm rather proud of them. I just ruined them by photographing them. XD
I was looking at my first ever introduction to Greek mythology, Aliki's Gods and Goddesses of Olympus, and I decided I wanted to draw and colour like that. It's nowhere near as epically masterful, but I'm happy with it and I want to develop it more.

These pictures were done weeks ago. -_-;;

SO THIS IS A THREE or maybe four PAGE COMIC ABOUT ATHENS' FOUNDING MYTH, WHICH I'M SURE EVERYONE HAS HEARD BEFORE.
You haven't? Oh... hmm. Well, I guess that makes me a nerd then... that's kind of sad.

This is sort of a prologue or a spin off or extra of the Athens and Sparta adventures comic (WHICH WILL LOOK 10000000x BETTER WHEN I START IT, PROMISE.)

I'm sorry to say this but you might have to wait another year for me to finish the other two pages.
Okay maybe four months. XD

HOPEFULLY BY THEN THIS WON'T SUCK.
AS MUCH

I APOLOGIZE TO YOUR EYES
I'LL WORK ON THIS.
I JUST NEED TO GET IT OUT THERE.
BLEGGH

A few things about the characters.
I drew Athena before I looked back at my childhood mythology book, actually, I drew her while I was browsing dA for pictures of her out of curiousity. After all the images I looked at, I remembered my book and it turned out the two were nearly identical. XD What a heavy influence that book has been, and I haven't looked at it in years!
Athena's always seemed to me as a sort of rugged beauty, not in the calm and tranquil wild beauty of Artemis, but in the punch-you-in-the-gut-if-you-insult-my-messy-hair way. XD She's also always been one of my favourites, since she, like Artemis, was all 'no way bro marriage is dumb' and stuck to doing what she enjoyed.

Poseidon... oh my god.
Have you looked up Poseidon on dA? What's with all these blue faerie elf boys with long wavy hair?
NO
POSEIDON IS A MAN'S MAN
HE'S THE FREAKING OCEAN GUY
HE IS WET
WET HAIR IS NOT PRETTY. IT IS WET AND TANGLED AND FILLED WITH THE ODD SEA CREATURES.
Mermaids with beautiful hair have always baffled me. Sure they look perfectly pleasant underwater but WTFARIELWHYDOESYOURHAIRDEFYNATURE.
Anyway HE HAS A BEARD. FFF.
Poseidon is literally the Aquaman to Mount Olympus' Justice League. Sure he gets the ocean and control over all seven seas, but his older brother got all the money in the world and a sweet underground lair, and his younger brother got to be the master of the universe. Anyone seeing Batman and Superman parallels? No?

ZEUS SO FAR IS JUST APPEARING AS A GIANT HAND. He did appear in my sketches but I'm lazy and so is he. He wouldn't get out of bed for these losers, so he'll just point threateningly at them until they shut up.

Athens: doing his best to look cute and helpless. At this point in time, he pretty much is.
Later on, he becomes a real jerk though.

Cecrops seems to usually have been left out of this myth, I didn't find out about him until the day I wrote the finalized script, which was around exams. XD

How many versions are you gonna do of this?

I think whenever Phantasm asks you should just link her to a new version you've drawn out.

............

............I love this and you dearly pffffft. And your Poseidon is oddly adorable in a "Get off my lawn you crazy kids!" sort of way.

My question is where Wonder Woman fits in this?

Yaaaaay! Subsequent pages will be prettier, promise. XD
Yeah, I guess I always thought of Po as the grumpy one over Hades (He's still a get-off-my-lawn anti-social angree old guy in my mind but he's consistently that way, where as Po is the kind of guy who has mood swings and is a lot more violent. Hades is chill because he knows that eventually all living things will eventually make their way down to pester him, and there's not much he can do if they're already dead. Zeus on the other hand... well... he's Zeus. But he likes to make games out of things and enjoys pulling strings more than the other two.)

Wonder Woman... Wonder Woman. She's an amazon or something, right? IDK her name's Diana, so Artemis? XD *knows nothing about Wonder Woman since she saw the giant Wonder Woman encyclopedia at Chapters*

Yay! Pffft, I'd go along with that reading of the characters.

Yeah, I guess Wonder Woman is weird for this because she is kinda already Greek-ish but she is part of the DC Triumvirate so I was wondering if you had an opinion. XD I'm not too knowledgeable on her myself since my Ninth grade history teacher who I hated was a big fan and had posters of her all over the classroom and it kind of turned me off her. OTL

THE INNER MYTH GEEK IN ME IS HAVING FANGASMS OVER THIS OMG HAPO I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU for making Poseidon a MAN with real wet hair (damn you disney with your physics defying hair!) instead of a Blue!Legolas. I will be frank and say the art is not your best, but OMG this script is awesome!!!! "And do so quietly. I'm sick of your yammering!" XD Now that you point it out, yes I totally see the Batman/Superman parallels.

And yes, photographing your art never does it proper justice.

I AM GLAD

I never got why people try to make Po pretty. He's THE OCEAN. THE OCEAN IS ANGREE.
>< I'm a little more tolerant of making Zeus a bit pretty because... well, he's a jerk and I don't like him sometimes. XD BUT HE IS A MAN TOO.

yeah I know I know. I'm tired of looking at it and it will improve once I hook up my scanner and bother to do panels and text properly. XD;
