Ooh! I finally got it done! I would have submitted this earlier, but after submitting them to both the Alien Army and Destroy All Competition... I noticed it was 11:45.
Okay, so DAH and DAH2 have this thing called the "Alien Army". Their job is to spread the word of DAH2 (And future games, if any) to everyone, with buddy icons, printable fliers, etc. So they also want you to submit your own promotion pictures. I seem to be the ONLY ONE who ACTUALLY DREW MY OWN so far. Anyway, their site can be found here [link] . You must be 16 (Or impersonate a 16 year old. XD) or older to enter... Then you'll have access to a bunch of fun stuff. I've even got my own Email there- Hapo57@alien-army.com (I think. XD)
Also, there is a site called "Destroy All Competition". The main objective is to create a fan site, but there's also an art contest where you can win a free copy of DAH2 (I think... or maybe that's only for the fan sites? It's either a free copy of the game or the strategy guide. Oh well) I also entered my email address to get a free incense holder. X3 I know, I'm becoming a fanatic. The fact that I've never won anything in my life doens't help much. XD You can check it out here [link]
So, I've submitted it to the alien army, and it needs to be approved by a moderator first. (Status:: This Promo Pic is pending review from the site administrators.) (Submitted: 09/03/2006 01:33 AM O_O They must be in the Eastern Time zone. XD)
I've also emailed it to the DAC site, still nothing from them (It's still about 9:00 anyway. =/ )

OKAY! So I was thinking of things to draw... it had to have Crypto in it...... sooo..... yeah. I originally drew one of me handing out fliers while hypnotised.... maybe I'll get back to that. Anyway, DAH2 takes place in the 60's, and so I drew him giving the peace sign (What a laugh!) And yes, he only has three fingers and a thumb. O_O Because. Anyway.
Yeah, I had some trouble with his new suit and gun, but I think he turned out alright. And I took some time making sure most of his clothes were shiny and that the gun was shiny (It still looks kind of lopsided) Yeeeeah. Then I added Pox in there.... Because Pox is the best furon warlord ever. ;______; NOT WAS! IS! IIIIIISSSS! WHHHHHHYYY PANDEMIC? WHHHHHYYY? *cough* *straightens up* U_U
... Um..... Colouring Crypto's eyes was fun. See, he doesn't exactly have an eye colour... It's usually shown as tinted red (And sometimes it's shown black with LOTS of shines and highlights) I can never get it right in coloured pencil, but this is PHOTOSHOP. Pox is fun to draw too. Spiky! Oh! LISTEN! *listening to DAH soundtrack*
Pox: THIS IS ORTHOPOX. FURON COMMANDER- No - SUPREME COMMAN- Wait- SUPREME ULTIMATE COMANDER OF THE GALAXY!
Anyway, I guess I still owed everyone (Including myeslf!) some Crypto Fanart since he hasn't been appearing in the comic lately.
I couldn't find a grass brush AT ALL in my preset brushes... so I downloaded some. The Sky was made previously.
The font was "Feast of Flesh" from [link] , closest thing I could find.

Tools of the Trade
Stage 1: Traditional: .05 Mech Pencil, .05 Encore fineliner, Pink Pearl Eraser, Computer paper
Stage 2: Digital: Adobe Photoshop CS2, Adobe Illustrator (I was watching the video tutorial- LIVE TRACE IS GENIUS!)
Time: About a week, on and off. Combining time I would say.... 1 hour traditional, 4-5 hours digital? I don't know! I don't keep track!

Critique
Hmmm, aside from this being my BEST CRYPTO PICTURE EVER, welll.... His gun still bothers me (Not bad for a first time though, eh?) I wish I could have drawn the end so I could put in the shiny glowy thingy that HAS THE POWER TO TAKE LIVES but I couldn't fit it. >< THE GUN WAS TOO HUUUUGE. I'm pretty sure I didn't get the colours right, but I tried, yeah? I sort of like how Pox came out, the hologram doesn't look so clear (Probably all those motion blurs the site told me to do) The Alien Army site asked for something under 450x450 px, but I'll submit the full version for you. XD

You know, on Friday, I was watching part of the 1953 movie "It Came from Outer Space". Much better quality, effects, and story line than "Teenagers from Outerspace (Which you'll find in the B-Movies on your DAH disk.) I mean, the glowy smoke 'vaseline-on the outside of the lense' thing? Wow. Much better than a gun that goes 'blink blink blink' and instantly turns someone into a skeleton (That effect was... amusing.) I didn't get to watch all of it though, I missed the beginning and Case Closed (A.K.A. Detective Conan) was on during the last part. FRANK! GEORGE! I think those were their names. "WE WISH YOU NO HARM. GIVE US TIME. YOUR FRIENDS ARE ALIVE. WE R ALINZ HOO CAN TAYKE ON DE FORMZ OPH OTHURZ! PH33R U5! =OOOO!"
