Epic Nintendo fanart: done.Okay, so in case you weren't aware..Shigeru Miyamoto is the creator of Zelda, Mario..and several other games (but those 2 are my favorite). So yeah, that's him as the puppet master. Several Mario and Zelda characters are in the background, as well as Hyrule castle.
Done in colored pencils..for a "traditional art" contest. Yeah. SOMEONE STOP ME FROM ENTERING CONTESTS.
The Mario characters are pretty general, but since Zelda is such a vast universe, I just chose random characters from my 4 favorite games (Ocarina, Majora's Mask, Windwaker and Twilight Princess). If you're bored, name all the characters! Woo!
I love Shiggy.
Oh yeah, forgot to add: I wanted Shiggy to be like Bongo Bongo from OoT.

Anyway, now that a movie night has revitalized my brain somewhat so I can articulate my thoughts, let's get a comment going.
First thing I noticed aside from the accurate likeness of Mister Shiggy is that your style is actually very strongly represented here. It's very distinct here with each character well presented with their own structure and expression (Bowser is my favourite ^^)
Lots of great colour use, but nothing unnecessary, which makes this really easy on the eyes and makes the line art look very clean. I like the blend of colours you used for the sky and the subtle lighting on the castle.
Great great great stuff all around except for ooooooone thing...
This picture is very top-heavy, or maybe just bottom-lacking. Originally when I saw this I liked the composition, but now that I'm studying it a bit, with such a good collaboration of characters on the top of the picture and the strong image of Shiggy in the center, the bottom half feels weak.
I don't think it's because of lack of cluster, because the layout you created for the bottom half is nice and simple and makes the top half look even better. I think it's because Mario and Link aren't doing very much, and they're the stars or the games in the piece and the puppets Shiggy is portrayed controlling. A bit more energy from them would have made this just dandy-riffic.
And...umm...that is my critique...comment...thing.
...now see, this is why I don't do this often, makes my brain hurt. I'm too dependent on "plz" accounts to think for me...methinks...ironically

Ah, yes good point! I was thinking the same thing..and actually I was thinking of just continuing the group to the bottom..but..I dunno, I wasn't sure how to do it. I didn't even think about making Link and Mario do something interesting. 
Originally, instead of the sunset it was going to be completely black. Hm, I wonder if that would've made a difference.

Yep, that's true...but I think Zelda is more about character development and Mario games are about...innovative..ideas or something.
I haven't, that's the Super Nintendo one, right? I've only really played the 4 games I mentioned AND the FIRST Zelda, which I didn't like much, haha.
