For those of us who think that the Element of Laughter could solve some problems, given chance.Panel #3 could have had more detail but I was going for a "pained (from being told he's everything wrong with the world) but trying to hide it" look. Overall I've been up way too late on this so... Done for now.

I guess te real point is where's there's a lot of chaos, there has to be some harmony. Otherwise it wouldn't last at all.
The inverse is true too. Even with the most harmonic and orderly society, there's still some chaos. It's what makes our lives on this wet rock and mud interesting, after all.

I have this whole "Yin-Yang" theory with how Harmony needs Chaos or because without Chaos, how would we know we have Harmony? So I think they should have let Discord run free a bit, keep him under control, but allowed to put Chaos into the world. Because next generation of ponies to wield the Elements of Harmony will have to fight Discord too now, as the spell will be broken because the mane six wouldn't be connected to the Elements anymore(that's the explainstion Princess Celestia gave as the reason Discord escaped from being a statue, her and Luna didn't control the Elements so spells they used are being broken(probably the same whatever the next thing they defeat with the Elements)

Not a head thoery anymore, I voiced it on the Internet! The only 'head theory' is, like with all things I like, I put in a version of my OC Anna(with a different name and backstory to match the show/book). In this case her name is 'Flare Blitz' and she's an Alicorn(I know alicorns are rare and all, but I couldn't make her just another Pegasus or unicorn. Plus, in the Mane six there are 2 of each type, earth pony, Pegasus and unicorn) and as usual, she bends the series' reality so that she's an important character, so now it's the mane seven(I don't really do this stuff on purpose, so sorry if it offends people) and seven Elements of Harmony, hers being 'Balance'. Personality is A bit like the best of all the others, but with her own attitude to it. Super special talent is fireworks and other explosives, used for either show or demolition(usually show,but it does explode, so why not demolition?)In my her version of this reality, instead of defeating Discord, she convinces everyone of my theory, and the Discord stay at it, but with her keeping him in control a bit. It takes a bit longer to convince Princess Celestia, as she thinks there isn't a way to control Chaos, but Flare Blitz points out that 'Controled Chaos' is her special talent, taking something chaotic, like explosions, and controlling them in a way to make them harmonize. And so Discord was left free.

But no one really sees it like that. Most find Chaos as something evil, because it isn't Harmony. So they believe Discord is evil because he uses Chaos. To me, there is no "good" or "evil" types of magic, it just depends on the person(or Draconequus) using it. And even it the person (or Draconequus) is evil, they have thier own soul, and can be switched to good, without having to give up using Chaos. But they always get imprisoned/killed by the hero of the series.

He's a draconequus with a weird hobby. Plus he put the mane 6 in a lot less mortal danger than Nightmare Moon did (and she got a very quick redemption post-defeat).
Nightmare Moon: Lured them into a dangerous forest, dropped them off a cliff, riled up 2 large carnivores, tried to steal away/corrupt Rainbow Dash, was apparently ready to physically fight Twilight
Discord: Sent their personalities a bit screwy whilst the rest of Ponyville seemed to have a grand old time (Granny Smith was DANCING)
