Oh, this is fantastic! Did you know they recently constructed a boat in this fashion using traditional methods? They recreated the journay to Punt made by Hatshepsut's sailors. It was truly amazing as they first expected the wood to expand over the course of two weeks to make the vessel watertight, but the theory didnèt work so they stuffed the cracks with plant fibers and sealed it with beeswax. The boat worked wonderfully!
