Description I've always been a big fan of Loki and his ever faithful wife Sigyn. This has been a statement that has rang true for mythology, comics and about anything else where Loki is featured.

When the Thor movie came out I was a bit disappointed they never addressed Loki's lovely wife. Not even in a cameo. So as fan's often do I decided to do some fan art of Movie style Loki with a revamp of Sigyn's original comic costume.

Instead of giving her that god awful axe shaped hat I made a bow style axe ornament in the back of her hair, kept her shoulder pads, cape and added an under layer of armor beneath her yellow dress. Other than that every thing really is the same.

well considering the story, loki hasn't met her yet regarding that Thor is married to Sif - who's originally blonde - in the Norse mythology

yup, in the comic they said Sif had long hair until Loki cut it off. When Loki brought back and attached the hair made of gold it turned black.

Aww, love it! I'm glad you did away with Sigyn's helmet/hat. That thing looks awful >_<

Anyway, they're talking about Thor sequels, so maybe she'll show up in the next one *crosses fingers*

I hope so, I liked the humanity behind Loki in this movie, I hope they continue to allow him to struggle with that.

Really love the expressions, color palette, and the poses for Loki and Sigyn. To tell you I was also pretty disappointed at never seeing Loki's lovely wife of loyality in the Marvel Studios' movie, THOR. Always wonderful to see what other artists do with their take on the Norse mythology world. Really must draw my take on Loki's wife, Sigyn. She looks so happy and very comely with her hot, yet rather dashing Tricker. Keep up the wonderful artwork as usual, Haru-chan!

One minor thing I've noticed is that Sigyn's lower forearm is way too thin from the elbow to the wrist of her right hand. It's pretty easy to redraw it later on as I've done this mistake as well.

Her arm is actually meant to be that Thin, I really wanted to give it a disney "Hercules" type look and keep a very over dramatized animated look.
But thank you for the critique.

Hmm it's easy to make a simple mistake on it being very thin, I really do love the classical look of Disney's "Hercules" art style look, and also a good work on the very over-dramatized look of the classic animation style which I'm a huge fan of.
And you're always very welcome for the critique.

I got really Inspired by your pic of Loki and Sigyn laying in the meadows of Asgard late at night, and drew my OCs, Loki and Sigyn cuddling in their favorite spot in the meadows of fair Asgard. Thor might want to do this with Jane Foster, yet as a comely human woman scientist she's a bit more modest compared to Asgard's ways.

You're very welcome, and I really liked both pics a lot, Haru.

Need a bit of help on how to do a short comic page of the movie versions of Loki and Thor can get into an argument over something so silly in Asgard. Jane and Sigyn will just be talking about themselves when their men get upset at each other. The quick-thinking Jane Foster will grab Sigyn's hand as they leave Loki's home. Both women hug their hot-headed men from behind which causes them to flush scarlet, while they enjoy the contact of their beautiful wife (Loki) and love interest (Thor).

Did a pretty darn good ball-point pen drawing of my version of Thor yesterday afternoon, yet I needed to draw the young human woman, Joanna Porter in pencil before I went over her in ball-point pen at Thor's large palace. I think you'll like it a lot.

Wonder how would they make love one night and pretty soon it'll result in a 1/2 Aesir (Thor, god of thunder and lightning) and 1/2 Human (Joanna Porter a scientist of the night sky and the universe) baby boy. Any ideas for a name would be very much appreciated as usual.

Did 2 pretty quick Icelandic baby boy names for my OCs, Thor and Joanna Porter's latest addition to their lives. The 3 close pals of Joanna's astrology team are Stig Jansson, Tracey Boyd and Martin Downey.

Found a few names which are Icelandic, and here they are: *Frithrik, Hallbjron, *Haraldur, Haikan, *Hrafn, Larus, *Tryggri, Tryqre, Ulfhrafn, Vermundur, Vighjrthur, *Vilhjalmur, *Ari, *Adalsteinn, *Fannar and *Sigrun. The * in front are the names I like a lot, Haa-chan. Which names do you think stand out the most?

I'm leaning between the names of Hrafn, Tryggri, Ulfhrafn, Vermundur, Ari, Adalsteinn, Fannar or Sigrun.

I also like both Hrafn (means "Raven" in Icelandic) and Verdmundur (means "Protector of Man" in Icelandic). Verdmundur Porter seems to fit the best.

Have to draw the little cutie of Thor and Joanna Porter soon. He does have the thunder and lightning as well as being able to fly like his very handsome dad. Odin will be pleasantly surprised once he recovers from sending Thor to Midgard, no?

So Joanna is Marvel Thor's child? What about Sif and Jane Foster.

LovelyLadyGray In reply to Harruka [2011-06-14 03:08:45 +0000 UTC]

No Joanna is my OC who meets and falls in love with my Norse thunder god OC, Thor, and she's not Thor's daughter or a part of Marvel Thor's child. Will let you know when I plan to draw my depiction of Marvel Comics' Sif and Jane Foster. I'm really sorry for the confusion I caused about this.

Joanna Porter drove to her little boy, Vermundur's elementary school to pick him up after the first 2-weeks of kindergarten. Thor spent a lot of time at Asgard and fighting the frost, stone and fire giants. Stig would tell Vermundur about his Norwegian roots, while Martin spent a lot of time playing silly games with him. Tracey loved to read children's books outloud to her boss's young son or star-gaze late at night. Loki caught sight of the large van and ran into the street to get a shocked Joanna's complete attention! He wore his full Asgard battle uniform with the red, brown and black coloring. The war spear went underneath the seat as he opened the passenger side. Sif, Frey and Baldur followed the actions of the Trickster god.
"Do you guys know it's very dangerious to run out into the street with fast-moving traffic, Loki?!" Joanna scolded Loki as he shrugged, while Sif gave Joanna's arm a quick squeeze of greeting. Frey and Baldur grinned at her as the human woman told the 3 Aesir and 1 Vasir to buckle up. Loki studied his human sister-in-law as they finally arrived at Vermundur's school. Frey rushed up to scoop a worried Vermunder into his lean arms as Loki and Baldur spoke to their nephew in Old Norse. Sif hugged a delighted little Vermunder.
"Is everything alright at home with Thor and me being a couple in Asgard, Sif?" Joanna asked her friend.
"All is well, yet Thor wants Vermundur and you to remain with him at home since he changed for the better from his excile on Midgard with you and your 3 comrades, Lady Joanna," Sif told Joanna as she smiled a bit.
Vermundur's glance focused on the sky as he caught sight of his Aesir father, Thor flying towards the group. The little boy with dusky sienna-raven wavy hair with Thor's broken nose and dusky storm azure eyes flew into the air like a speeding bullet train as a rather smug Loki, Frey and Baldur cheered their nephew on!

No worries about the confusion. I was just mixed up between weather you were just using the names of the gods or actually doing a myth or marvel fan series. That's all cleared up now.

LovelyLadyGray In reply to Harruka [2011-06-14 22:55:15 +0000 UTC]

Ah this is the first time e've been confused by this. I can tell sometimes I get so wrapped up in what I'm doing at the moment I confuse other people. I'm just having fun with my love of the Viking mythology and you're right on whether when I'm using the names of the Norse gods and goddesses and I've never read any of Marvel Studios' THOR comic series.
Shall agree with you on it's all cleared up now.

Did a pretty quick sketch of my depiction of Marvel's Thor and Jane Foster in the lush meadows of fair Asgard among the wild flowers. Thought it would be a lot of fun to have Thor try to be modest when he takes Jane to visit Asgard, his friends and maybe meet the family. It's one of my simpler drawings compared to my usually very detailed pics. I think you will like it a lot.

What did you think of my little short story about Joanna and little Vermundur going with Thor and the rest of Asgardians? Tried my best to show both how different Midgard and Asgard can be as well.

It's a wonderful balance really, the goddess of loyalty being with the god of mischief and lies. Then again, she would have to the goddess of loyalty to stick with him out of the goodness of her heart, helping him where she can with the serpent after he is bound.

Harruka In reply to SetsunaNoroi [2011-05-26 21:37:23 +0000 UTC]

I completely agree. Some of the edda's say that though she was unhappy with Loki she was duty bound to him while others say that she did love and honor her husband. I like to believe the earlier (i think) edda's that say she loved him, it makes a great balance and really gives you a sad feeling when she cares for him before Ragnarok.

SetsunaNoroi In reply to Harruka [2011-05-26 21:49:46 +0000 UTC]

I certainly preferred the version where she loved him, especially considering how much control women had over their own marriage, more than some think they did. A woman could get divorced the second she wanted, and I would think the gods were applied to the same rules. Sigyn loving him is just what makes sense, otherwise why would she have been loyal to him in the first place.
