DJ-PON3 has to be the winner of any Popularity vs. Screen Time chart you could make for most any franchise. And really, she was a fun inclusion to Rarity's doomed fashion show. I couldn't even hold her anachronistic appearance against her (although pinning down a time period for the ponies is notoriously hard... Still, at this point of the show it seemed to be a largely pre-industrial society, so dropping a DJ in there was a bit of a change-up.)The show runners have explained that she is a full-blown "secondary character" rather than a background pony at this point. Will she get a voice in an episode? I kind of doubt it, but I do expect that she'll pop up sometime in Season 4. Pinkie seems to have her number for big events, after all.

You know what would be cool? The idea of Vinyl Scratch being the 'villain' in the upcoming Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks movie. Think about it: we already know from the trailer that Vinyl's going to be in it in multiples scenes and occasions, and the movie is apparently about bands and music: my guess is that the plot is about bands competing for some sort of title or reward, and with Rainbow Rocks being the Mane Six's band, they could very well be competing against Vinyl Scratch (band, disc jockey, or whatever) for the title. It would be the perfect setting to set up DJ-PON3 as a rival-based antagonist for the movie.

It would, wouldn't it. I look forward to seeing the movie, if only to see if my theory proves correct. Either way, I think Vinyl Scratch is going to have a really big part in Rainbow Rocks.
